According to the latest EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly), the full name will be THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE LEGEND REBORN. It was also revealed that the game starts out on Link's 12th birthday, the same age as in OoT.

If that is the "actual" name, it would sorta sound appropriate. It sounds sorta confusing with Link starting out at age 12, I guess. But I'm just gonna let everyone else decipher the name, since I can't seem to right now.

That doesn't make sense, why is the legend 'reborn'?

In my opinion, The Legend Of Zelda: A/The Legend is born sounds much better, and makes mroe sense :D.

I thought "the legend reborn" was just the catch pharse going with the game. Like pokemon's "gotta catch em all".

No, the next zelda is suppose to be the begining of the story. And since OOT was also, Its probably a retold story differently.

Well it is a different Link.

Oh no not the different Links theory again! *runs away*

*remembers he wanted to post something* *comes back*

The Legend reborn... that doesn't sound like a Zelda game name. The others had 'Link' (The Adventure of Link; A Link to the Past; Link's awakening) in it or described an important item (Ocarina of Time; Majora's Mask) or person (Oracle of Ages/Seasons).

The Legend reborn... it just doesn't sound right. That's what I hate about rumors. They make you ponder and worry and let you wait for the answer for months! Just like the Rare rumor.... :(

Its an okay name. It might be changed though...

Anyway...

It never says what Link's age is in OoT so the game might not start out with Link as the same age...

All I know is in NP, shiggy told them it was the begging of the story. And since in ocarina, he bagan his adventure with the fairy and crap, Im just concluding it may be a different way of telling it.

Or maybe Shiggy don't remember crap, and even though OoT was supposed to be the beginning, they make a whole new beginning :p

Cuz I don't think they can have a "retelling" of OoT and place it on some tropical place with a boat and something to do with saving Link's sister.... O.o

Well, it may explain how he ended up in the Ocarina of Time one since there he had no family and was a bit of an outsider with no fairy. Plus in this new one Zelda isn't mentioned at all so far.

That may be the possibility but I still belive in the multiple Link theory. This game might use the same Link as in the N64 ones or it may not.

the only thing that bugs me is that they say ''The Legend'' twice in the full name. It just sounds phony...

Well even though it's probably phony, it could always end up being "Zelda: The Legend Reborn"... like "Zelda II: The Adventures of Link"................ :sneaky:

it's always a good laugh seeing people trying to make sense of Zelda... hahaha

*remembers a couple of weeks ago*

Ok, so I'm a hypocrite, so what? I laugh at myself sometimes too

And Danny, haven't you read the comic that explained how he got in Kokiri forest?

I somewhat remember that comic. You mean that old one you translated (or somebody did).

Anywhoo, I'm still sticking to the multiple Link theory.

Yeah I scanned it and put it on my site. Translated a bit until everybody said I didn't have to... :( :D

I'd rather have 1 Link and 1 Zelda with a story that isn't accurate, than multiple Links and Zeldas that can explain the story.

Well, I guess it's more fun for the creators to create a new beginning each time than to keep continuing the story.

Like Dan said maybe there isn't a timeline in Zelda, maybe Shiggy just makes the games without brothering about the time line.

Cause the only people try to figure out the time line is us gamers. I think just makes the Zelda games and doesn't give a hoot about the timelines..once the game is good.

What about Majora's Mask? That somewhat followed OoT.
