this game was sweet, the ending especially!

btw, if you are reading this and are allergic to spoilers, GET OUT!

so, who else conquered the darkness? i'm playing the red one this time; i did the green one before. the sanity affects got really cool and kind of creepy. i hated the background noises like ppl knocking on doors and monsters yelling and footsteps running and that baby and women always yelling and you could here stabbing and augh! that reminded me of max payne. the story was much better then most that are being released these days. they definately left room for a sequel but i'd rather look forward to too human. hopefully that won't take as long to get here. i felt really sorry for maximillion, he wasn't crazy!!! he should have killed those servants. i walked up to one at the beginning, just playing around, and shot him. he was just cleaning the floor but when i shot him his body tore open and one of those creatures came out! but at the end of the game he got his piece of the battle. i thought that was creative. oh yeh, the canadian firefighter guy was cool, very nice visuals. the scariest chapter was, um.....the WWI was scary.

so if you've beat it, give your thoughts and don't be afraid of being flamed for giving away spoilers in here.

oh yeh, cool sanity affects. one of my favs was the windows blue screen of death! it acted like it crashed. and the bugs crawling on the screen was weird. i didn't like it when i was maximillion and went through a door and ended up in a cell. the rooms upsdide down was cool. i was the fransiscan and went to the sanctuary and it had the hospital beds and tents like it did in the future with the one character. that was cool. um....exploding while trying to do magick got me killed! my guy started yelling and shooting on his own and he shot the screen and put bullet holes in it! books flying in the library scared me. it acted like i reset it a few times.

um......ok, your turn.

Cool, I heard it's an amazing game. With a few flaws of course, how long is it??

I'm asking these question because it dretermines whether I pick up a cube or not later on this fall. Is it true that you have to run around in circles to recharge you mana/magic??

Im still on chapter 4, figuring out where to put the red ruby statue.

it took me about 11 hours to beat it but keep in mind i played it like an addict on heroin. i'm already playing it through again to beat it with the other gods. your magick recharges as you move, its not really that big of an issue, i don't think.

ruby red statue? the effigy? i don't think you use that till later if its what i'm thinking it is. i think that the guy gives it to another guy later in the game who uses it. i'm not sure though.

i've just beat it twice, this time under six hours. i'm a little dissapointed on how little the story and endings change depending on your choices at the beginning of the game.

anyways, if you beat it twice you get the character select which is cool but for some reason they decided not to have em show the intro movies on character select which sux.

I just beat for the first time :D Its a really good game though I thought the end boss battle was way too easy. I'm going to to go beat it again (and again) to get the special cool ending :D

If you beat the game three times then you get some special coole dning or something. But you have to pick a different artifact each time at the beginning of the game. And they also have to be connected (if you saved at the end of the game and choose a new game and say yes to the option that comes up).

WOOO!!! Just got the game and played it for about an hour and a half. Amazing so far. I allready got my insanity meter down to 0 too...by accedentially shooting a good guy with a blowgun...go figure...but the insanity effects I saw were great...loving to far, after 2 chapters...

After playing RE, I thought nothing could beat it, and then ED was released. ED has better gameplay, sound, music, camera system, and etc. The graphics aren't as good as RE, though.

ED is honestly (so far) the best game of 2002. :)

I have trully conquered the Eternal Darkness. Using the TOME OF THE ETERNAL DARKNESS I have conquered it and let the light shine over it 3, count it, 3 times.

By that I mean I finally got the last ending, and only then is the game trully finished. The story is fully completed and all ends are tied up making for a complete understanding of all that wasn't clear trough out the game.

Not only all of that, but it opens the story up for a sequl ;)

Just for curiosity. This game has multiple endings right? And each character has multiple endings too, right? I'm asking this because all of my friend's character die in the end. He tells me that there are no other "endings". I don't think this is true.

The ending is based on the path you choose. You play with all the characters in each path, and all have only one ending at the end of their chapter. There are a few things tied between them that have importance on the final battle but it's the same for each path.

There are 4 endings. 3 for each path that look very much the same but the catastrophy vision changes, and the 4th one that comes after the 3rd ending. Now this is the ending you want. It's the one I was talking about.

To get the fourth ending you just have to beat it three times and then beat it again with any of the relics or is there something special that happens at the third ending and you beat it with that?

It comes right after the 3rd ending. It's supposed to be that way. You play three times and think it's goint to be all the same again, and then after the 3rd ending is over just like the other 2, instead of the credits you see the 4th ending and then it's over.

What a dummy!!! I beat it a third time and it did the same thing. I stupidly loaded Pious' level that I saved after I beat it for the first time and started from there, not realizing that the game will think that I have only beat it once. So now I have to go through it again! Oh well, only takes me about 6 hours.

I beat it... took the green path... it started off nice, got better towards the middle, then towards the end... kinda meh... The last chapter I really liked was Peter Jacob's... then it was kinda meh... I didn't like the underground magical city... And the ending was blaaah... the boss fight was run here, hit this... run there, hit that.... over and over until then it was just whack away at that guy... in between a few little cutscenes of some giant things fighting...

And I don't think the sanity effects were as big of a deal as people made it out to be, it wasn't scary, and the magic system seemed nowhere near as deep as I had read about in the IGN preview... *cough*

And the story didn't seem to great IMO... I dunno I guess it just wasn't my kind of story... I liked Silent Hill's crazy mysterious "What's going on here" story... *dodges tomato* *shakes fist at gekko*...

Anyways I beat it in like 12 and a half hours or something... Even though it sounded like I was complaining this whole mini-review, I still give it like an 8 out of 10 cuz it was pretty fun and stuff for a majority of the game :D

DsH, playing it 3 times and not watching the ending will leave you the same as you are just now. THat's why the last ending is UBER. It is trully something to watch and understand. The story is much more than you know of with this ending. The other two gods have slightly changed cutscenes, but the last ending is the one that is worth seeing. It is something really unespected.

Yeah I heard there's a special secret ending if you beat all 3 colors... I'm already back at the Guardian battle with Peter Jacob on my second time... hopefully I can beat it with red and then blue before the game goes back friday :p

(sorry I'm too lazy to sign off of my friend's name)
