Well, the draft is tonight. I can't wait to watch it. I don't know... I just like these things. Yao Ming will undoubtedly be getting picked first by the Houston Rockets.... Jay Williams and Drew Gooden will be my choices to go next.
Here is a mock-draft from tsn.ca
1. Yao Ming, C, Houston Rockets
2. Jay Williams, PG, Chicago Bulls
3. Nickoloz Tskitishvili, F, Golden State
4. Mike Dunleavy, SF, Memphis Grizzlies
5. Dajuan Wagner, G, Denver Nuggets
6. Drew Gooden, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
7. Maybyner "Nene" Hilario, C, New York Knicks
8. Curtis Borchardt, C, L.A. Clippers
9. Chris Wilcox, PF, Phoenix Suns
10. Caron Butler, SF, Miami Heat
11. Qyntel Woods, G/F, Washington Wizards
12. Kareem Rush, SG, L.A. Clippers
13. Jared Jeffries, F, Milwaukee Bucks
14. Jiri Welsch, G, Indiana Pacers
15. Marcus Haislip, PF, Houston Rockets
16. Amare Stoudemire, PF, Philadelphia 76ers
17. Melvin Ely, PF, New Orleans/Charlotte Hornets
18. Frank Williams, PG, Orlando Magic
19. Bostjan Nachbar, SF, Utah Jazz
20. Dan Dickau, PG, Toronto Raptors
21. Jamal Sampson, C, Portland Trail Blaziers
22. Luis Scola, PF, Phoenix Suns
23. Roger Mason, G, Detroit Pistons
24. Tito Maddox, PG, New Jersey Nets
25. Jason Jennings, C, Denver Nuggets
26. Rod Grizzard, G/F, San Antonio Spurs
27. Carlos Boozer, PF, L.A. Lakers
28. Juan Dixon, G, Sacramento Kings
Yupperz... that is the predicted first round picks.. Hopefully there will be some trades and such to spicen up the draft.
And now to my question. If you had second pick, who would you choose (considering that Ming was picked first)???
I would pick... Probably Drew Gooden. This guy is my idol... He is too good.

being tall isnt everything... i mean look at Shawn Bradley hes 7'6 and not very useful...
Umm... yeah.. the raptors gor Kareem Rush.. but im not sure if they still have him.. they made a trade with the lakers and got linsey hunter and the lakers draft pick for tracy murray and the draft rights to kareem rush.
The raptors arent over the salary cap anymoe.. so :)
I dunno... i just dont see Yao Ming being good :p
Jay williams on the other hand :p

Yao Ming will not be relying fully on his low post abilities. This man can shoot three's and can drain it from 12 feet out. Ming will no doubt gain some weight in muscle (he is on a workout program), and in 4-5 years will be able to contain Shaq.
Here are the trades that happened in the NBA yesterday :
The Knicks traded Hilario's rights along with Marcus Camby and Mark Jackson for former all-star McDyess and Williams, chosen by the Denver Nuggets with the 25th selection.
The three-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers acquired the rights to Missouri guard Kareem Rush, along with Tracy Murray, from Toronto for Lindsey Hunter and the rights to the 27th pick, Chris Jefferies.
Philadelphia traded the 16th pick, Czech guard Jiri Welsch, to Golden State for a future first-round pick and a future first- or second-round pick.
Orlando traded the 18th pick, Chris Borchardt, to Utah for the 19th pick, Ryan Humphrey, and a second-round pick.
Sacramento dealt the 29th pick, Gonzaga's Dan Dickau, to Atlanta for a future first round pick.
The Memphis Grizzlies sent guard Nick Anderson to the Cleveland Cavaliers for guard Wesley Person.
Philadelphia 76ers traded guard Speedy Claxton to the San Antonio Spurs for forward Mark Bryant and the draft rights to guard John Salmons and forward Randy Holcomb.
And Mushlafa... are you sure that there is a salary cap in the NBA? Because I always thought that they didn't have one.. Unless I was thinking about hockey.... Anyways, with the money that the Raptors saved from tossing Murray, will just go into Keon Clark's wallet.

pretty sure there is... hmm... sec lemee find a quote to proove it exists :D
"Perhaps still more importantly, the deal allows the Raptors to clear up about $1 million in salary cap room to use when targeting free agents starting July 1 "
I want them to keep curry another year tho also...
Im gonna be so mad if kareem rush turns out really good and jeffries turns out garbage :D

Yeah. Jeffries will be good. Don't worry. Raptors don't really need a young shooting guard anyway. Now we have Alvin Wiliams and Lindsay Hunter for point guards. Now we have Jeffries to sub in for Mo Peterson, and then Curry (if we sign him) for Carter. It will all work out fine and dandy.

I dont know how a 300 pound man can contain all that weight so much. He dosnt look fat, or muscular. It must drain out in his fat.

Well in the first round.....the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted......NOBODY!!
Stupid Wolves and stupid Joe Smith....he's not worth the money he's getting, and certainly not worth losing all those draft picks for.
Anyways, I think Yao Ming will be alright, but I don't think he is going to be anything special yet. As for Jay Williams, I kind of have a feeling that he is going to be a bust, don't know why but I just do. He justs seems to small to play in the NBA without skills like Iverson. But hopefully he can prove me wrong.

Hey Mushlafa, there is a salary cap for next season! My bad. I just never heard of it, and next year will be the first year that the NBA will have a salary cap. It will be $55 Million US.

Anybody who doubts Yao Ming, look at this:
http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Yao_Ready_For_This-47036-34.html
:)
Yao is the tallest first pick Center of all time, and the second heviest (next to Shaq, who only has him beat by 5lbs)

I read most of those a couple of days before.
But even before I read those, I knew this kid was gonna dominate. I really don't think that he will do spectacular in his first year, but he will still get the rookie of the year award.
In 3-4 years, he will start to really dominate, and lead the Rockets to the title.
