If you haven't yet seen GT's front page, do so now.. or just go directly to the source. Here! (http://www.e3awards.com/win.html)

How do you guys feel about Doom 3 winning the Game Of The Show award?

I can see how it won, but I personally would not have picked it.

From what I understand as well, I'm not too sure if the decision on picking Doom 3 totally violated the rules/regulation.

"In order to compete a game must have been shown in playable form. Playable form is defined as the ability for the judge or a developer to manipulate the game in real-time running on its native platform"

There was talk of Doom3 running on workstations at the show.. if that were ture.. that wouldn't qualify as "native platform" IMO. (again... this is if such statements are correct)

Anyway, what are your thoughts?
Are you surprised by the other awards?

Wow doom III once again amazes everyone to win best of show when it:

-wasnt in playable form
-had a small theater to make a long line and in afect make it look popular
-had a theater more amazing the game
-wont come out for quite a bit longer as I hear it

Well, thats a pretty good set of criteria for judging a game. And unlike other site awards, this time, the game that we are all so positive will be the best won 5 awards. I know Billy from PGC simpathizes.

Doom III won't be out for another year, so it will take all of next year's awards too.

And why would Billy simpathize? All he cared about was Super Mario Sunshine.

In a comment to a different sites awards, he pretty much stated the same thing. But yeah its mostly shine get or whatever with him.

I hope the game sucks in gameplay to shut the stupid critics up. I wouldnt buy it anyway, Im not a big DOOM fan.

I was a little surprised Zelda got runner up spot for Best of Show. I thought at least Metroid would get there, but meh.

Game Informer (a mag) said that Metriod Prime is shapeing up to be one of Nintendo's biggest dissapointments ever

They also gave best show to Sony, ad gave MS and Nintendo a tie for second... but then again, it gave Zelda the best console game of the show and Doom the best PC game... and Metriod isn't even in the top ten games shown.

Methinks it has happend again... each fan of each system gave the award for best show to thier personal favorite show.

I'm not shocked with the E3 awards at all... and I have always thought Metriod will be weak, even the show at E3 didn't prove me wrong.

How do you know? All of these sites say that the wait for metroid was well worth it when they saw the videos, the different cababilities of the suit, the levels, the enemies. And a magazine that states it doesnt like it is to be trusted against the others even after you say they could be just totaly bias.

I say you shouldnt listen to reviews too often. Especialy when it goes against a larger majority of reviews tat counter it from trusted sites.

Um...

I've always said I thought Metriod would be weak, even before E3. Just because of all the problems the company is going through, and how the game's build is.

I just have a bad feeling about this game.... VERY similar to the feeling I had about Luigi's Mansion

I dont see what could be so bad according to all these sites describing the video in every way. It sounds really good. Not a First-person fan?

First Person SHOOTER fan... If this game has a great 4 player game ( ) It would get a lot of bonus points.

Most of what I read about the game is lame but expressed in a tone of voice like it's great... kinda like listening to BreakABone give his thoughts on WMx8 ;) jk

Too much Doom 3. I haven't even seen more than 1 screenshot of the game, what's all the fuzz about??
