View Full Version : What disappoints you most about your Xbox?

The thing I like most is it's graphics and features only.
The only game I see myself buying is Project Ego if it's good.
I kinda wish I didn't buy it now. The graphics are awesome, the controller is hideously deformed, and I feel I've wasted a lot of money :(
C'mon somebody post some game lists to get me excited! I like the features it has, such as broadband ready, DVD player etc etc, but the most important thing is lacking for me..............games.

Games, by far. Xbox lacks really great games, they gt a few, but not enough to make me happy.
Here's the few I would recommend:
World Series Baseball
MotoGP
Outlaw Golf
JSRF
Halo (Love or hate game. Rent first)
Morrowind (If your PC can't handle it)
Those are all exclusives, if you don't have any of these on other systems, they are good games:
THPS3
NHL Hitz 2002
NFL 2K2
Genma Onimusha
I've also heard good things about Rallisport. Anyway, my Xbox is basically my Sega box. I mean, they ripped off the DC controller, so it could almost be my next DC (just not as good) :) But look to the future, that's why you would get an Xbox:
Crazy Taxi 3
Panzer Dragoon
Shenmue II
Sega GT 2002
House of the Dead 3
Toe Jam & Earl 3
Project Ego
Old Skool

But gekko the poll was about "The thing I like most about my Xbox is it's..." So why did you put games (By they way I'm a bit ahead of my self here, I take it you did vote Games in the Poll).

I actually love the XBox controller, and as for Halo being a love or hate game? I haven't heard one person who has played it say they hated it, and most praise it.
As for it not having very many great games, its second to the PS2 in that category in existing consoles IMO and its list is still continuing to grow. The Fall/Winter line-up is jaw dropping.
I can say the only thing that dissappointed me was Raw, but it was still decent. What I love most is Halo and Morrowind, which I think is the greatest achievement in the RPG genre on a console by far. Simply engrossing. In second place is the "deformed" controller which melts in my hands. True, the button placement could have been better, but it feels solid and I don't get cramped hands while playing it for long stretches.

Is that opinion based on the normal, or S?
And I like a lot as far as Xbox's hardware. Built-in ethernet has it's downfalls, but personally, it doesn't hurt me. The HD is great, cause it hasn't been abused yet. And I dunno, something about an endless memory card just makes me happy. It's nice not worrying about it, or getting up when you're tried and just wanna play.
Also, the graphics and sound are good. And the ability to select surround and progressive scans in the system menu is nice.
But it needs better games. Thankfully they have Sega, or they would be screwed.
Oh, and Halo is love and hate. I've talked to quite a few people who aren't impressed with it. It's decent, but not exactly worth the purchase to a lot of people.

My opinion of the controller is of the original, and yes, I know that opinion is in the minority for a lot of people but I love it.
As for it not having enough great games... of course it doesn't. Neither does the Gamecube, and in fact to this date the Gmecube is worse off than the XBox. It's been out for a little over 6 months now. Give it a year and then lets see how many great games are out for it. I think expectations for "great" games is irrational at this point.
And I think our definitions of "hate" differ, gekko. I am referring to wanting to drop a massive load on Halo and cursing it the way I despise Smackdown, and I think you are referring to mere indifference to it.

Oh well, changing my vote :) Yeah I had that too! I chose the long list of features that don't say much about gaming.

I like X-Box's controller more than any other controller, because it feels the best in my hands. It's horrible for ports because the buttons are closer and it may cause confusion, but for first party games it's the only controller that doesn't cramp up my hands or make my hands sweat.
X-Box has out-right better games than Gamecube so far, and for a first 7 month game line-up for a system, it's probably one of the best.
The features X-Box have are the best on the market... hands down. I prefer a built-in HD to memory cards any day.

Saying that the Xbox has far better games than GC right now is an opinion, and I don't share the same view. I don't know much about the upcoming games for Xbox..........can some1 post em?
The only games I got on Xbox are Halo, DOA3, RalliSport Challenge and Project GOtham Racing.
I only got the 2 racing games thanks to the "free game" deal coz Xbox price lowered.
I don't like the racing games (well in general). DOA3 is an "average" fighting game. Halo I think is good, but there are not enough weapons in the game. I don't think it's "awesome" nemore. I had way more fun with PD and GE (even though the controller scheme is better for Xbox).
So far I've had more fun with my GC. SSB:Melee, Waverace, Super Monkey Ball and Rogue Leader I seem to enjoy a lot more than my current Xbox games.
I just don't wanna feel as if i've wasted my money on the Xbox. Right now I do :(

You simply have a different taste in games... I think Xbox so far is better because it has more sports sims(HUGE plus), better fighting games, better racers, and ports that usually consist of more levels (Tony Hawk, Spider Man)
As far as future games, Nintendo's efforts have gone unrespected by me. On one hand, there is the Mario, Mario Party, and Zelda games... which are great. Then there are the newish games like Metriod Prime, Star Fox, and Eternal Darkness, which I have no plans to buy now that I saw them at E3...(things may change back, but there are too many Ps2/Xbox games and ports coming this fall for me to waste my time or money)
Then there are the disapointments. N64 had the best wrestling games, doesn't look like it anymore. Plus Goldeneye/Perfect dark played huge rolls in why I liked N64, but where is Rare? Probably developing for other consoles... the FPSs that are supposed to hold me off are Timesplitters and Bond?Bond doesn't live up to a Rare FPS, and Timesplitters is coming to Ps2 with more features.
I'm also disapointed in the online plans and the missing SD Cards.
But like I said before... we got different tastes. Some people can get one Nintendo franchise game every other month and it would be better than any other list of games. Some people also just like games generally better because it is on thier favorite console. (Sonic, Bond, or WMx8 anybody?)

Well I was pissed... when I found out SSX Tricky isn't coming to the European X-Box.
Also have you heared Silent Hill: Restless Dreams is coming to Europe as Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears but remade graphics in October. At least the wait is somehow justified. Still it sucks.
ICO for PS2 came out what... 3 weeks ago or something.
Europe sucks.

Europe sucks. Well I got my Ps2 modded and I can play all the Japanese /US games on release. I even got Tekken4 b4 the US :p
They are copied though. FFX did have some problems. BUt I had it running at Full screen and full frame rates/speed.
C the PAL Version? Those borders are bloody huge!
The reason y FFX don't work at certain parts is coz I got one of the first batches of PS2's, and the laser ain't strong enuff to play some copied DVD's like FFX.
