Hopefully this means some more money can be put towards improving some quality of life features. It annoys me on the tablet how you have to go through the store and look up something you've bought to download it...there's no library tab.

Either of you ever buy digital comics from Amazon before? Wondering how the kindle versions compare. (SHAMELESS PLUG: Also available on Kindle)

Nope, never have, I don't have a kindle (I'm a Nook person...a rare breed.)

I'll check out your comics. Are you drawing again, or are you doing some writing?

Got myself a Nook fairly recently. About the simplest model. Perfect for reading books, and not much else. I really like it.

Those comics are actually quite old even though they're coming out now. The the majority of this last one was done in early 2012.

I'm drawing again, though dunno if will ever do any more comic books. Too much work for so little pay and with a busted hand...yeah. Looking into starting a webcomic.

I am writing a good deal. Started two novels, but I doubt will finish either. Mostly been writing comedic skits that would probably work best acted out, but going to see about turning them into short comics.

I'm on an android tablet - the new version of that app still supports in-app purchases, and now has a shopping cart feature. I think they must have stopped supporting it on iOS because Apple takes a 30% cut of all sales.

It also has a purchases tab so you can actually see what you own.

Article seems to be overreacting quite a bit. They didn't do this to force people to move to the kindle (the app is great on my Galaxy) they did it because they were losing 30% of each $1 sale to Apple. That's kind of crazy. I wouldn't want to be giving 30% of every sale to another guy either. They were probably making no money iOS digital sales.

This whole problem is solved by logging into the comixology website on your tablet 1 time and having it remember your login. Then you can browse however long you want without getting on a computer.

I'm just super happy that there is now a purchases tab in the app...that's all I ever wanted to begin with.

Well, the thing is we don't know how much they will be losing now

It could very well be that Amazon just wants to absorb the 30% themselves instead of giving it to the creators

What creators? I mean it seems obvious that 30% will now to go Amazon/Comixology, if all the business is done through their website.

It's true they'll lose a lot of impulse buys from people in the app, but if they were making next to nothing on the sales anyway it doesn't really hurt them.
