Think for Ender they were also kind of unlucky that the kid had a growth spurt. Believe he got picked up for the movie when Hugo came out. Reminds me of Neville in Harry Potter. Ended up being the tallest one of the bunch.

I'm prepared to be disappointed. I'm not really upset that they upped the age of the children. 6 years old is pretty unreasonable.

And as much as I love the book, knowing that Orson Scott Card is a nutjob does kind of taint the experience for me.

Yeah that's what I was referring to.

It's kind of strange, because Ender was an atheist.

If I remember right, he also died an atheist, and was proud of it. And I seem to recall him and Alai having moments that seemed beyond platonic.

Weird he would write such things while being such a religious homophobe.

Yeah a lot of moments in his novels seem to be a little bit homo.

I just re-read ender's game. There were some super iffy moments.

Don't forget all the naked children in the first novel. I mean he even has a fight between 2 nude children. LOL.
