I saw this story (http://www.gothic-culture.com/europe/17-odessa-catacombs.html) on reddit and thought it was creepy as hell. They didn't find this girl's body until 2 years later.

I wouldn't say that this is creepy, but it's definitely interesting. The coal under the town has been burning since 1962 when someone burned trashed in the pit of an abandoned strip mine, which transferred to the coal. They could never put it out, and the whole town is abandoned now due to the subsidence damage that the incident has created.

I've been there and it's pretty neat. They had to build a new section of PA 61, since the old section now looks like this:

Yeeeeeeeeears ago I had this "cave story" bookmarked. It was building up towards something terrible... but I never got to the end. :p

One of the original internet horror stories. As I recall this is before Blair Witch, another story begun on the internet. I think this caving story could make a great Blair Witch style movie.

I actually remember that cave story! I remember reading through the whole thing. If I remember correctly at the end he was suppoused to go into the cave one last time once and for all, and he was going to put like one final update on it and then that last update was just never there, assuming he died or whatever...something like that.
