Jango wanted a perfect clone of himself. I didn't pay any attention to it at first. And I thought Boba was his son.

Boba is the perfect clone of Jango!
That's actually pretty cool. They also looks like eachother. :D:D

Oh yeah, I was surprised to see Boba in this movie! I was like: 'Hi little Boba Fett!'

No I didn't, but it was nice to see little Boba Fett.

When did you understand Boba is Jango's clone??

Umm...how about right after I saw the little kid call Jango his dad....and before when the guy said that Jango wanted his own clone to himself...

I understood Boba was Jango's clone when they said so.....

It was really Jango wanted a perfect clone.... he wanted a son but since I guess chasing bounties didn't allow enough time to "mate" he decided that since there were clones be made of him anyway might as well have one that doesn't grow up unnaturally fast and would be like a son to him....

Ya, right when they said he wanted a perfect clone.

Well, took me a little while to realize the Senate dude was actually the Emperor. Should have figured that out back from Ep 1.

You didn't already know the Emperor's name was Palpatine?

I thought that was common knowledge...

So is Boba Fett that guy that tricks Han Solo and gives him to Vader? :vader:

And that senator Palpatine thingy was obvious in ep 1.
Didn't you think it was weird that Dooku told Obi Wan that a Sith controlled the Senate? I first thought that Dooku was actually good and that the Jedi should help him. But he wasn't. Then why did he tell that? Now Yoda and all the others (what's left of them;)) are suspicous.

That son of the guy that married Shmi, was he called Owen? That would make sense, it would be Luke's stef-uncle.

Yeye.. Boba is a clone. Was it not hard to notice that when they showed all of those little clones eating, who looked exactly like Boba?!??!!?!?!

Senator Paplatine = Chancellor Palpatine = The Emperor = Darth Sidious.

"That son of the guy that married Shmi, was he called Owen? That would make sense, it would be Luke's stef-uncle."

Yes, his name was Owen. He is known as "Uncle Owen" in Episode 4. And he isn't Luke's step uncle... Because that was Shmi's first marriage....

He IS Luke's steph-uncle. :p
The old guy in the wheel(?)chair even looked like that uncle Owen. :D

EDIT: HEY WHERE IS RIDLEY'S POST?? It explained why that Owen is his steph-uncle.

I deleted it because I looked it over and found something wrong with it. Anyways I think I've got it now. Owen isn't Luke's uncle. Shmi had Anakin (with ?????) before she married this guy (she married him after Anakin left with Obi Wan). Then Anakin & Amidala have Luke, so that would make Owen his "step-uncle". Either way, Luke and Owen aren't blood related.

Shmi said Anakin didn't have a father... literally. Force-indused birth.

Anakin was consieved by the midi chlorians, as the prophecy says. Owen is Luke's uncle. Because look : Shmi had two kids : Anakin and Owen. Therefore, Luke is blood related to Owen, because Shmi is Luke's grandma, Owen is Shmi's son, and Anaking is Shmi's son.

So was Owen Shmi's son or step-son? He looked to be older than Anikin so I guess he was the step-son. And the midichlorians were supposed to speed up the aging process or something. So there was no blood relationship.

And did it seem weird that c3po was there. . .and he was there AGAIN in Ep IV, but no one seemed to notice?

EDIT:I'm not sure if the age speeding up was actually in the film so I don't know if its true or not. I read it before I saw the film and don't remember it mentioning it there, but it might have showed up. :-?

Oh, my bad. I thought that Shmi and Lars (the dude in the hover-chair) got married, and had Owen. But I think that what vstyr said was right, that Lars had Owen before. My bad.

Ok, I must have missed the "midi chlorians" birth thing when I watched I & II. I didn't know that. Also I missed that Owen is Shmi's son. Man I should watch them both again methinks . Despite that, it still doesn't mean 100% that Owen is his blood uncle, but it doesn't mean that he's his step-uncle. It's really, more or less, inconclusive. Reason being the way Anakin was conceived. If he had been conceived by I guess you would say, the "natural" way, then Owen would without a doubt be his step-uncle. But even with the given situation, it doesn't necessarily mean he's his blood uncle either. It's sort of one of those things without a right or wrong I think. Ah well :D

Edit : lol Never mind. I just noticed your post Joeiss.

Maybe Owen just forgot about them. It's not that unlikely. Even if he did remember them, he'd probably think they weren't the same ones. Or maybe it's because Lucas didn't think there would be a sequel to the original, so he didn't have to worry about being consistent ;).

I was thinking the latter when I posted it. :)

I know we pretty much figured it out but just to add on to it, Watto said he sold Shmi a month or a year before (I think), so if Owen was her son, he couldn't be very old at all.

3PO did have that silver-ish rusty body in Episode II. So maybe Owen didn't recognize him in Episode IV because of his new golden shell. Or maybe he picked 3PO because he remembered him...

Ginkasa

Its been 20 years since Owen last saw C-3PO. There's also the color switch and most protocol droids looked nearly if not exactly the same so even if Owen remembered C-3PO he probably wouldn't have recognized him.

Also...

Midi-chlorians do not speed up the aging process. Midi-chlorians are the physical side of the Force. You must have gotten them mixed up with the clones, whose aging process were speeded up so that they could have a fully mature clone in less that 18 years.

And Shmi is not the mother of Owen. Lars had Owen in a previous marriage, or at least a previous relationship.

Link's post sums it up pretty well.

It's pretty cool how senator Palpatine (and Jango) were behind BOTH the armies (clones and droids). He just couldn't lose! :D Now they made him surpreme something to counter the clone attack, while he made it himself! :)
