Now that the lakers have one ( ) and are facing the nets ( ) they are pretty much this years champions! But some people seem to think the nets have a chance.

So, lets see what you think. And dont just hold a grudge against the lakers cause they won.

Lets take a look at a few bonuses:

- First game 7 road game won by the lakers
- First playoff game to go overtime in game 7

P.s. YOU WERE ALL WRONG!!!

Lakers will definately win. I can't see this series going more than 5 games (if that). I knew LA was going to win... But I just really wanted Sacramento to go on. Either way, LA or SAC, the western team was goint to win.

And people are saying that New Jersey has a chance!

That is quite sad.

Well I know NO Eastern Conference teams had ANY chance to win, but I want the Nets to win. I HATE THE LAKERS, so I picked the Nets anyway...

(I HATE THE LAKERS)

I wouldn't count New Jersey out...

I dunno who's gonna win, but I voted for NJ because I like them better.

BTW, I'm glad the Lakers beat the Kings...

Im so mad the kings only shot 53% at the freethrow line when in the rugular season they shoot like 81% as a team! I dunno what happened to christie :( he was horrible that game... webber and divac ****ed up at the line... the only person who had an all around good game was Mike Bibby as usual when the pressure is on.

Whatever... i still beleive that kings are the better team.... and i feel bad for tod muccologh ( sp? ) cause hes gonna be trying to garud shaq.. whatever .. i think the lakers will in in 6 so they can win at home. I still want new jersy to win tho.

You know what really sucks. Peja, the King's three-point champion, airballing that 3-pointer when he was wide open. That could have chanaged a few things.

We can't blame Stojakovic, though. He just came off a bad ankle injury. That was like his second or third game back.

Ankle...shmankle. Kobe fractured a rib in the season and played fine the rest of the game.

Here is another piece of info that arose from Fox Sports Net: Shaq has a higher point average in this playoff then any other player in playoff history, including Jordan. He beat jordan by .1 percent. Though this could change for the beter or worse considering he will have to keep it up for 4 more games.

Lakers Win Game 1: YES!

The nets came closer then I thought they would, Ill say that. From the begining the lakers were murdering them. Up until half time. Then I went out to practice some basketball. I come back (8:00 in the 4th) and its only a 10 point lead! I dont know what happen. There were some pretty bad calls and non-calls against the lakers in the 4th, I hope that wasnt what happened in the third.

Well, in the second quarter, Lakers had all second string player on, except for Shaq. Shaw played a great game. Although they only won by a couple baskets, there was not one moment that I thought that the Lakers would lose, and I think that everybody at the stadium, and everybody on the Laker's bench knew that.

I really don't expect anything to change. Laker's can't stop Jason Kid, but they sure as hell can stop everybody else. Kid got another triple double, which is very impressive. MacCullough, Kenyon Martin and Williams can't control Shaq. And have you seen his spin move?!?! Damn he is a fast mother f*cker!

Kobe was same old Kobe. A six year veteran at the age of 23. Fisser played very well, knocking down several trays, and playing tight d. Also, Shaw stepped up with some great offensive movement.

I think the nets came out really nervous and that prolly explains their bad play in the first half. Then they prolly got some pep talk from the coach and they came out thinking they could win. I didnt get to see the whole game, but i think if it werent for that 26 point deficit going into half time the outcome may have been different..

Yeah Im also dissapointed that peja aired that 3 ball...

GameKinG

Jackson said he told them to lower their playing the equal that of the opponet. It did look like the lakers were getting bored so why not make it more interesting.

Like i said i didnt get to finish watching the game, but after the first quarter was over i saw second string players come on and nets were still getting pumbeled ( sp ?:p ) and i think its cause they were nervous.

Yeah i still think the lakers are gonna whoop em but i hope they dont

Hey did you know shaq has the highest shooting percentage ever in a play off run by .1% right now? He has to keep it that high tho to keep first place. Just so you know thats jordan in second right now.... and shaqs shooting like 60% this play offs.... I didnt know jordan was THAT good when he was young... i think its awesome for someoene that isnt a post player to shoot 60%

Joeiss
06-07-2002, 05:56 PM
Holy... I heard that Shaq had the lead for that right now, but I didn't know it was in the sixty percentile!!! ANd Jordan shot 60%?!?!?!?! Wow... That is very impressive. Jordan is clutch. I bet you that three quarters of those shots were taken from around the key, though.

I was exagerating but... hes shooting 53% in this play off meaning that jordan musta shot 52% thats still pretty good tho... considering shaq is constantly triple teamed... Jordan when he was younge was wicked.... Hes had 47.7 ppg in the playoffs before and was shooting over 49% while getting 6 rebounds and like 6 assists...

Who do you guys think would win? The old bulls or the today lakers?

I say the old bulls... :p

Maybe the nets can win the next 4 games

Well, the 4th game is.. tonight (I think), and if the Lakers win this one, they win the series. Acually, if the Lakers win any more games, they win the series.. the Nets need to win the next 5 games to pull this off.. and it ain't gunna happen.

5 games ??
You mean 4 ;)

I still think the old bulls woulda killed today lakers.. well maybe not killed but beatin them. I also think that the kings are better than the lakers and the kings woulda won if they didnt have such a bad game... the only people who really played good that last game were Webber and Bibby .. the rest of them were shooting really crappy.

Oh hehe Erin williams set a new record for the fastest foul out... 6 fouls in 7 min... and new jersy was shooting 78% in the third

Hmmm... the definition of a really good team means one that all players contribute, and don't play bad games. I think that the fact that the Lakers capitalized on Kings' crapiness in game 7 makes them the better team. And how can you say that Kings are the better team if Lakers beat them?

I think eaven the lakers have their bad games ;) I think if both teams had decent games the kings woulda won

Whatever... i think the kings are better than the lakers eaven if the lakers did beat them in a best of 7...

Well, todays lakers with shaq and kobe are better then Magic from a bit older lakers (no offense to magic who was a big thing before jordan). So if the older lakers almost beat the bulls for the title in 91, Im sure the new ones would have taken it all the way.

I didnt feel like checking the players for the 91 bulls but i know in 91 they didnt have Toni Kukoc and they didnt have Dennis Rodman who averaged 15 RPG during the reg season. I also dont think that the lakers woulda won cause the lowest % shooting starter on the 95 bulls shot 44% which is really good...

Whatever... im just saying that the 91 bulls werent eaven close to as good as the 95-96 bulls

I think new jersy did a real good job cept game 1. They did a lot better than i thought they would, they kept it close every game except game one... and uhh... I knew Jason Kidd was a good passer but.. DAMN.. that guy makes the most impossible passes.
