Don't know how many of you have seen the rumor, but word/buzz around the Internet is that Valve may announce a Steam Box, basically a console that runs Steam.

The console.. would be different as it wouldn't be a single item released by Valve, but a standard in which they establish, and license out to other partners.

Anyhow,

This provides more details about the rumor.

Double that.

I think a Steam Box would be either be extremely successful, or the next Sega Saturn. Plus "Steam Box" makes me giggle.

Hm. So...it will...do well, or poorly. Those are my stoned predictions, apparently. If it is a real thing that will exist in the future that is.

I was going to say, you are really going out there with your predictions. "It will either do well or it will not"

But I think the idea has a ton of great potential. Some worry that it has no market. Its between a console and a PC, and both of those are catered to pretty well at the moment.

We still haven't had it officially announced yet.

Well, I think the market is people who want both. I want to buy my game in 1 place (at the low cost of steam games), and be able to play it on my PC or from the couch.

And I'm sure there are others like you
The question is how BIG is that market?
Is it something that is sustainable for a business model?

See I would rather just play my games on PC these days. Nothing beats a keyboard and mouse it seems for the majority of games.

Seems like Valve has denied this console.
