View Full Version : Question about the 3DS
I'm about to get a Limited Edition Zelda 3DS ( I will mug someone if I must -,..,-) and I was wondering... does the 3DS accept WPA2 security settings for wireless networks? It's such a bummer that the first DS only accepts WEP protection because WEP sucks and although I don't have anyone trying to steal my bandwith I don't like to leave it open or with WEP security. Can anyone who has one tell me if it does? Thanks in advanced!

Yes, but any DS games will still only accept WEP.

Well that's weird. I suppose they are still using old code on the games? I'll just continue to turn the wireless security off during my handheld gaming sessions. *sigh*

Let me rephrase: 3DS games are able to use WPA2, but any original DS games will only be able to use WEP since that's all their actual system can do.

Oh well that's awesome! The only game I'd go back to right now would be Phantasy Star Zero. But everything else I'd be playing new would be new games for 3DS. Thanks for letting me know.
