So the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, I'm With You, came out on Monday. As they are my favorite band, I picked it up.

So far I'm really loving it. Maybe not quite as good as Stadium Arcadium, but that's not saying much since Stadium Arcadium was so amazing.

The single from the album is The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, which is decent, but I think there's better stuff on the album. Look Around, Factory of Faith, and Ethiopia are my current favorites. Another good one that's growing on me is Police Station.

This one has a different guitarist than the last one - Josh Klinghoffer replaced John Frusciante, who has been on guitar since Californication. I definitely miss him - Klinghoffer is good but Frusciante had a distinctive sound that was very RHCP. I guess there's always a chance he'll return in the future. :ohreilly:

Hmm, not much interest on the forums..

I like it as well but I need to give it a listen through headphones, at least 3-4 more times to make a final decision :)

Agree with you about Frusciante, he was probably the characteristic sound of RHCP. Klinghoffer has talent though. Interesting to see what he'll do in the future with the band.

I'll check it out. I enjoyed Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, By the Way, and One Hot Minute the most.

Not nearly as good as Stadium Arcadium, which was AMAZING, but still pretty good. I like Monarchy of Roses, Factory of Faith, and Look Around the most I think.

Dah I got to pick this up! I'm so turned off by buying music these days, but this is one I've been looking forward to.

I have heard that the new guitarist Klinghoffer had direct and ample tutelage under Frusciante. From the single I've heard he does keep the key part of Frusciante's style but definitely adds his own style, and so far I like it. I am happy with this compromise -- I doubt Frusciante would have done another album after Stadium so soon.
