Fitocracy is a new fitness site that attempts to "gamify" working out. You follow your friends, similar to facebook or twitter, and you get points, complete quests, and earn achievements based on your workouts, which you enter into a tracker.

Even if you aren't interested in the game aspects, it's a nice way to track your progress.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and it's been really motivating try to compete with friends and keep ahead on points. It's caused me to workout more days a week and at random times just as an attempt to complete a quest to get more points.

Right now it's invite only, and I have 5 invites left. Anyone here interested one (send me your email)? Please only take one if you intend to exercise and use it.

Looks like fun. Email is: atbond@wisc.edu if you don't mind giving me an invite. I'm actually about to start a new workout schedule as I've become bored / plateaued with the current one.

Going to start using this today. No one else? Come on GT. Let's not be fat slobs now.

All I do is run, so I'm not sure this is something that would be helpful to me or not. Planning on running my first marathon in May. I'm no slob!

Fitocracy actually weights running way to heavily at the moment. You would get tons of points.

I'm a little confused... are the challenges and things completed by just entering your workout, or is there a separate process?

Just by entering your workout under the 'Track' tab.

Well, I went and pulled my back doing a dead lift on Tuesday, and now all my friends are passing me up in points.
