Dwayne McDuffie passed away yesterday from complications due to a surgical procedure performed the previous evening. I actually never read many of his comics outside of Static but know him primarily from his work on Static Shock, Justice League (and Unlimited) where he wrote, produced, or story-edited 69 out of the 91 episodes and on Ben 10: Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. On his website's forum he would happily answer any questions kids had about the show. He just seemed like a really nice guy. This is probably the saddest I've been upon hearing about the death of someone I didn't know personally. He was only 49. RIP Mr. McDuffie.
