View Full Version : Opera annoyance

When I use Facebook on Opera and someone chats with me, the Opera window with the FB page keeps stealing focus from other Opera windows.

So I have multiple windows (I don't like tabbed browsing) and whenever I get a message, the Facebook page pops up.

As you can imagine, it's not only annoying, but it makes it nearly impossible to multi-task-surf.

Does anyone know how to fix this? People say I need to uncheck the Javascript option 'Allow raising of windows', but that doesn't solve it (it was already unchecked). Did I miss something?

I've never used Opera so I can't help you on this subject. But I can help you by recommending that you use Chrome :)

Chrome? Google is becoming the new Microsoft! We have to boycott it before it's to late.

But I think I also read some other disadvantages of Chrome, can't remember what it was.

I actually just started using Chrome a week ago, and holy crap is it hands down the best browser.

Not only does it's main page keep track of your most visited sites, and has them all there so you can simply click to them - but it loads way faster than other browsers.

If you're not using Chrome, what is wrong with you?

I guess I'll give it a try.
But Opera is Norwegian! :(

That's what they want you to think and then BAM!

Yesterday I saw a T-shirt (online) which said 'Skynet' in Google font. Exactly what I mean.

Well, yes, that may be true. They do own a pretty big part of our digital lives, and to be honest, I really don't have that much to hide from them (or anyone else). They make my life easier, and that's good enough for me.

And yes, Chrome is blazingly fast.
