View Full Version : Anyone heard of Machinarium?

It's a game from a Czech company called Amanita Design. They had developed Samorost and Samorost 2 before, and they released Machinarium in 2009.

It's a point-and-click adventure game with beautiful, hand-drawn visuals. From what I've read, people say it's a bit short, but I played the demo, and I would (and will) pay the $20 just for the atmosphere.

You can find more info and play the Flash based demo at the official site (machinarium.com).

Oh, and make sure you listen to the soundtrack (http://machinarium.net/blog/2009/09/29/machinarium-soundtrack-preview/) and the bonus EP (http://machinarium.net/blog/2009/11/22/free-machinarium-soundtrack-bonus-ep/) ;)

Aaah I saw a trailer of this a way back and thought it looked good. Then I played the Robox demo on WiiWare and hated it. I'm glad this isn't it. :)

But it's not the kind of game I'd like.

I bought it off their site when they had a deal and it was $5. Game is only like 3 maybe 4 hours long but damn if it isn't an awesome 3-4 hours.

I wish I'd bought it at that time. I knew it was $5 but didn't buy it then, I have no idea why. Now I'm waiting for another price drop (holiday season on Steam maybe?).

When I first looked at this game it reminded me of the Simpsons episode where they showed the Russian Itchy and Scratchy.

Nooo! That site doesn't load for me! I looked it up, and the bundle is great, but for some reason it says the server couldn't be found.. :(

Works with a tunnel site though..

Don't sell it to Turkish people!!!!!!

That sucks, but did you get it through a proxy?

I tried a few different combinations, but the only thing it worked was with one of those tunnel sites. But that probably won't let me download it when I pay them, so I didn't purchase it.

The other games available in the bundle look good as well. Wish I could buy it..

Edit: Bought it. Found a tunnel site that lets me download them. Getting the games one by one ;) Thanks a lot Vampyr!

I paid $10, btw ;)

Wait, I have to post this.

That site I found didn't work for the larger downloads, kept stopping mid-download. So I looked for another way. I used Google Translate to translate the download page they sent me to Turkish. All the links worked through Google's servers, at full speed.

I'm amazed.

Haha, awesome. Glad it worked out for you.
