View Full Version : How!? Why!? *Must Read*

I just saw this on IGNPS2.
So what's so curiously stunning about the third game in the quietly solid BMX stunt series? A very good question indeed, but not one that can be answered with a comfortable face. Due in part not only because this the first extreme sports game in history to receive an M rating, but also because of the content that earns it such a mark. In short, Dave Mirra XXX is packed full of swearing, violence, and nudity.
You heard it right. In a drastically different approach from the previous two games, the next title will be as dirty as a game can get. Mini-games that involve stripping and wardrobe removal, snotty-nosed brats urinating in public pools, senseless automobile accidents that destroy everything in its path, and unlockable bonuses that include DVD-quality full-motion video of real life Scores stripper girls. And when they strip... they strip! Not readily available in the E3 version, actual shots of T&A was not available in the demo for the show floor but was assured to us that by ship time, players who do well will be rewarded with real-life strip shows where everything comes off.

All I have to say is DAMN! IGNPS2, the side thingy says Rating:M. BUt I highly doubt it will be M. I suspect this will be the first game on a console in history to get an AO rating. Hopefully it is gonna be on all 3 systems. I must at least rent this game(not a big bike riding game person) just for these "things". I wish they would've said this news on April 1st. It would've been great to see what people say:D But I want to know what were they thinking when they thought this up. And Why?!

This won't be (if it is) the first console game to receive an AO rating. I believe there is one PS game that had an AO rating...and on the PC...huh, boy. ;)

Hey, sex sells.
You're too young :p And you know for legal reasons they will have warning messages all over the game.
There has never been an AO console game released in the US. In Japan there's a bunch.
And yes, it's coming to all 3 consoles. But if you want porn, why not just get porn? And if you want strippers, go to a strip club.
Bacially, when I play a BMX game I want to ride, not try to get 2 dogs to have sex with each other. I mean, come on now, this is like a desperate attempt to stick porn into Mirra. They don't go together.
I think Penguini said it best, "Immature games for mature gamers", with a few spelling mistakes.

The fact that it has all those "qualities" will probably sell it. Mainly to horny perverts and immature kids who send their older *insert here* to buy it.

Yay! about all 3. And the 2nd part. I still have to wait approx. 6 months:( before I can legally buy porn/go to strip clubs since my b-day is in Jan.

If you want porn, just find some on the internet or something. Sheesh...

I don't get what it is with porno and games
As long as the game is good, that's all I'm concerned about.
Heck I even like Pokemon

Hahaha... That is funny. I will probably rent this to get a good laugh. And I agree with most people here. Why buy a video game with porn in it for $69.99, when you can go out and get a full length porno DVD for $19.99? Makes no sence to me.

I think it sounds stupid...
But I bet a lot of people will rent it or something just for some good laughs ;)

One question guys, what does AO mean?
Here in the UK we have:
U - Universal
PG - Parental Guidance
12 - Ages 12 and up.
15 - Ages 15 and up.
18 - Ages 18 and up.
We used to have X aswell (porn) but now that just falls under 18.
So anyway what does AO stand for?
Sex in games, has to happen somewhere along the line. But this aint sex it's stripping, BIG difference.

is that what they call it now?
I thought it was still called 'spanking the monkey', 'choking the chicken', or my personal favourite, 'shaking hands with the president'.

It essentially means that the game CAN NOT be sold to anyone under either 17 or 18, its one fo the 2, but basically no one under 17/18 can buy it. Must have parent purchase it(if possible)

If you wanted to do that, you could just go look at actual porn like the other people were saying :p It'd be easier......
Whereas having stuff like that in a videogame could be amusing to some people... :D

They were all quite disturbing. One video showed some thing slamming into a child only in underpants... and then showing him pissing in the pool. And the guy who was commenting on the gameplay was nice enough to say you can take the player's shirt off and ride around naked with them.

You know, the worst thing is this game looks like a much better BMX game than number 2. Too bad the teen fan group won't be playing it.

Is it me or is it that games such as these are meant to be on market just to put more restrictions on selling video games? Hopefully, they won't make a big deal out of this like they did with GTA3...but they are sure to notice the strippers and all...
