So uh... I didn't know about this until tonight. I watched the NBA 2k11 review, and IGN was giving it extremely high praise saying it's the best sports game of this generation, and the best basketball game of all time.

So, I was curious about how NBA Elite was doing, and... well... it looks like the game was delayed until 2011. This seems to be the first admission from EA that their basketball game is a piece of crap.
Even though it didn't bother me at the time it happened, it was pretty lame that EA bought out the NFL licence, and killed their only competition in NFL 2k. But now 2k has come back so far that EA was scared out of releasing their basketball franchise. That's pretty amazing to me. (Madden being the only football game didn't bother me back then since it was so much better then 2k in my opinion, but now after so many years without compeition, I'm no longer a yearly Madden buyer. The games just simply fell off now.)
Considering NBA 2k has no competition this year, and they got the Jordan sponsor, and went the extra mile on everything in the game, I wouldn't be shocked if it topped the 5 million mark and nailed the coffin shut for the NBA "Live" series. And they won out by making a better game, not just buying out the rights. :)
