I realize that summer is almost over, I also realize this promotion is a week from being done, but eh.

Every year for I guess the past 3 years now? MS has done a summer of Arcade program where they highlight 4-5 arcade titles over the summer.

This year's crop included Limbo, which we have a thread for. Hydro Thunder, which don't think anyone bought. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, which is a 6 player co-op Castlevania game that I've been playing with Swan and our new member evil Pilgrim.

This week's release is Monday Night Combat, which I just tried the demo for. And really tempted to pick it up. I guess the comparison a lot of people make is to TF 2 since it is a class based shooter, but it also has AI bots which are needed for assault/defense, and as of now only know defend/destroy mode. Good times though.

Next week's final release is Tomb Raider: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

So what summer of Arcade titles have you picked up?

I have Limbo and Castlevania.

I was considering MNC, but the characters just look annoying to me, like they're trying too hard to be funny like TF2, and not succeeding.

Only a day with it, but I'm really enjoying Monday Night Combat.

I will say I know I will get tired of it. The game basically has two modes. And essentially the same idea, except one is vs humans while the other is more of a Horde type game.

The commentary is already getting old.

But for the time being, it is a really enjoyable experience, which is helped by the RPG ish elements where you upgrade abilities, and attach certain perks to your player.

So I ended up getting Lara Croft for free off of Twitter, and I got to say this is probably one of the better (and probably biggest) XBLA titles. I wish online co-op was included during the initial release, but I'm enjoying the single player campaign a great deal, and can't wait for online since it is a slightly different beast.

Also because I ended up getting Monday Night Combat, Castlevania and now Lara Croft, I also qualify for 400 points free :D
