Hey guys

You can see the title, post your thoughts and comments :)

Personally, I cant wait for the digital revolution, been using the DC app yesterday and today and been loving it. Love not having to walk to my comics shop which may or may not have what I want in stock. And digital looks like it will work out cheaper for me without international shipping.

Although, print comics arnt going to just disappear the same way radio didnt disappear when TV came around. It did change (radio dramas slowly faded away) but it didnt go away. My prediction is that in the long run we'll see more one-shots (stories over several issues are much easier on digital when you can go back and get the previous issues with the click of a button without having to dig through a back issue bin) and we may even see some more prestige format comics (the kind that Radical publishing focus on).

The iPad looks like a sweet e-comic reader.

Good for supporting indie comics at the 99 cent price range. Given Marvel and DC's higher prices I see no reason for anyone to stop downloading their comics for free. In an ideal world digital comics would be extremely cheap in order to bring comics to the masses again and break out of being the tiny community it's become. It would be more of a hook to get folks to buy trades which is what the industry is moving towards.

As I mentioned in the other thread DC and Marvel are just being greedy. How can every other company charge 99 cents and yet DC has the gall to charge full cover price for a digital comic? And it actually costs more to buy the entire Sandman collection digitally than in trade form.

@Teuthida: Can't really read pirated comics on the bus. There's a reason.

Also, on the matter of price, my prediction is that it will go down over time. Better to start will a slightly elevated price and lower it later than to start with a lower price and raise it when your plans dont exactly work out. And its working out cheaper me and I imagine that may be the case for other non-US readers.

If DC get around to releasing trades as soon as all the digital comics are available (ie; trade 1 for title XYZ comes out the day XYZ#6 goes online), then that'll be totally awesome. I'd happily go to the store if I can actually follow a series in tpb format.
