Actually, this isn't even a competition.

Nintendo >> Sony >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Microsoft.

I loved Kevin Butler and his quip about those of us who were watching the conference and pretending to work at the same time. Nailed it. Everyone in my room laughed.

Well just gonna say I thought Nintendo "won" and it seems to be general opinion, but seeing how that means so much from me, I shall break it down.

Microsoft had a terrible conference, which is just odd coming from them. They had a decent amount of games at the start, but none of it was anything we didn't know about and in some cases have played before.

Call of Duty: Black Ops demo just didn't do anything for me, and the trailer is old.
Halo: Reach, I'll get Halo sure, but the gameplay demo did nothing for me pretty much because it really showed nothing that wasn't in the beta, aside from the space battle, which just seemed life-less.
Gears of War 3 looks awesome, but I also love the series. And 4 player co-op sign me up.
I don't care for Fable so there's that.
And then we didn't see enough of Kingdom.

Then came the Kinect stuff, oh gawd the Kinect stuff. I'll just say the only thing that looked interesting was Dance Central and the menu interface.

Nintendo.
They got off on the right foot, Zelda was their biggest ace so it was a surprise to see them starting off with it. The game looks great with a nice mix of cel-shading and a more "Realistic" approach I guess.
Then came the stage demo... and boy was that cringe-worthy to watch. I felt bad for them on there for like 10 minutes while the game just would not respond. OUCH
Then was Mario Sports Mix, which again, is.. I was just saying what a good job Nintendo was doing of not whoring Mario out this gen and they just go and slap me in the face.
Sure, the game looks fine, but it added nothing to the conference.
Then came Wii Party, which looks like Mario Party reborn, which I'm fine with, but so many party games this gen.
Golden Sun DS looks cool, felt bad for the DS, only big game on display, granted it isn't dead yet!
Then came the meat of the show. Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Goldeneye, NBA Jam, I'm interested in all of these games with varying levels.
But I LOVE LOVE the look of Kirby and like th look of Epic Mickey. And of course, I welcome more platformers.
There was a lot of talk for the 3DS, but I expect it when revealing new hardware so eh. They showed Kid Icarus which was a huge surprise, and got the audience excited. Then they kind of ended weak, the trailer with the exes were funny, but it didn't show much.

Now, Sony has the same problem they always have in my mind. They don't know when to shut up. There conference was 2-hours, compared to about 80 minutes or so for MS and Nintendo.
A lot of the time was filled with them talking, they talked 3D, they talked Move, they even talked Ps2 sales, and I just wished they shut up.
They had Kevin Butler came out, and I like the dude, but I really think he overstayed his welcome on the stage.
And what is it with Sony and taking potshots at MS and Nintendo? Its funny the first or second time, but to do it during the whole conference gets old. Talk about your product, it sells itself.
They showed the most game, but as usual, they throw in a bunch of games during gaming montages, so its hard to see more than a few seconds.

Of the games they did demo, I have some interest in Sorcery (which looks like an awesome use of motion controls), inFamous 2 (Liked the first one), Heroes on the Move (will be keeping an eye on it to see what type of platformer it becomes) and Twisted Metal.

Also, their push for 3D is noble, but doesn't really play well to an audience watching at home.

So yeah that's my thoughts.

Yeah Nintendo wins in my book. I may buy a refurbished/used Wii soon.

And BaB, Sony doesn't shut up because they want to restore confidence in people who think they "failed".

They haven't failed as much as proven they aren't the invincible juggernaut anymore.

It happens.

I voted for nintendo!! Kiiirrbbyyy (o'.'o) it's kind of funny though how a lot of games are turning into 2D.5 like Little Big Planet, was that the original 2D.5 starter?

I know its handheld, but I would credit New Super Mario Bros DS more so than LittleBigPlanet... selling close to 20 million copies... people take notice.

Def Nintendo.

Although I am pumped about Bulletstorm, Fable 3, and GoW3, even though we knew about them before E3.

In terms of Kinect and Move:

Agreed. They want to squash any doubts about how well-off they are now compared to their compeition.

Well I might regret selling my wii kinda. DKC:R was enough to convince me of this, but Metroid Other M and now a Kid Icarus game! GTFO nintendo, you toy with my emotions. It's like you had 4 years of nothing but suck, then you redo my classic loves. I hate you.

Little Big Planet, was that the original 2D.5 starter? No way man, they've had 2.5D games since the PlayStation and N64 gen. Klonoa, Kirby, probably more.
Perhaps they disappeared for a while, but this gen we've already seen Lost Winds and several others.

I also think Nintendo won. I was personally disappointed, but that's because my expectations were too high. Zelda should have been more and better.

I also saw parts of the other conferences. They were even worse.
