So Microsoft has their press briefing today (even though they had a Kinect's reveal last night that won't be televised until tomorrow afternoon)

The event begins at 10:30 PST or 1:30 EST or 6:30 GMT. And if you need more time zones, you can figure it out from there.

The event is expected to showcase the recently revealed Kinect, Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops and much more.

And with any e3 conference there are bound to be plenty of surprises.

Microsoft is sparing no effort for this conference, as it will be aired live commercial free on SpikeTV beginning half an hour early for a pre-e3 special. It will also be streamed live to Times Square in New York City on the biggest screen they got.

But assuming you don't have access to SpikeTV or don't live in NYC and want to stand still for 2 hours here are some other places to check out the conference

You can also be assured that other means will pop up as the conference begins.

Seems like no one watched this year.

You all picked a good one to skip over.

The rule of 2 is now in effect, Sony in 06, Nintendo in 08 and now MS in '10.

There were no major surprises, other than MS parterning with Crytek for Kingdom and the announcement that new 360 goes on sale this week.

They had demos of Gears of War, Halo Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Showed short gameplay of MGS Rising, Fable 3 and I think that was it.

They then spent the next hour on Kinect. Which has some cool features like menu navigation, but then everything else looked like deriative games from the Wii.

You had your sports collection, your dancing game, your Fitness game, your kart racing game. And yeah, they all look how you expect them to look.

They announced no price, but a release of Nov 4th

ESPN on XBL is another cool announcement but I get like 10 of those channels anyhow.

And this is Kinect's launch line up

Only thing there that interests me is Metal Gear Solid Rising.

What a piece of diarrhea press conference. MGS Rising looks tight as hell, Fable 3 will be cool, the rest I can pass on.

So what was the MS schedule like? They actually had a pre-pre-E3 conference on Sunday? And it involved Cirque du Soleil?

So, basically, when you don't have a killer app to speak for itself, throw a bunch of clowns at it to distract everyone from that fact?

And if all else fails, bribe journalists.

They gave everyone at the conference, a free Xbox Slim.

Yeah I heard that, too. Wish I was there! I'd take that reach-around happily.

But, really, what was the MS schedule like? Was the Cirque at the E3 conference? Where and when was the other conference?

They had two different, "events"

One was the pre-e3 Cirque de Soleil event which was part performance/part reveal which will be aired on MTV tomorrow at 3:30 pm.

And then today, and whatever you want to call it. Trying to find an official breakdown of the conf to post in this thread.

Until then, here's a gif

Best stuff was the Kinect stuff. Disappointing that there were not big game reveals, but I'm sure this motion business is going to do wonders for them. They really seem to have a handle on the market they're going for. It's going to be interesting to see how well it does

Then again, $150...

MGS Rising was the only highlight, and Gears 3, but Gears 3 isn't innovative at all. The bosses look cool though.
