View Full Version : LOST 5/18 - "What they Died For"
They apparently died for... the light?
An okay episode I suppose, but the finale is going to have to be pretty epic to save this season. The alternate universe has also become far more captivating than the island universe.

I've enjoyed all of the episodes.

Like Alt Desmond and the escape scene with Hurley, Ben acting like Ben again, and Miles's usual quips. Everything else was bleh...but sadly I'm used to that now.
Any predictions for the finale?

Jack and Desmond will perform a Wonder Twins transformation (Form of immortal douchebag with a thing for numbers! Form of unexplained magical light!) and take on MIB in an epic game of backgammon.
But really...hmm, not sure. The time lines will converge somehow or transfer conscious into the alt timeline (as it appears alt Hurley remembers an awful lot from the island). Not sure what will become of MIB and the island though. I mean, the island is at the bottom of the ocean in the alt timeline...could it have sunk with him still on it?

So much hate. :)
I liked the episode all around. Ben going back to his old self, after his supposed redemption. Maybe he knows acting like old Ben is the only way to get MIB's trust, and he will have some final redemption. (Why did he ask for the walkie-talkies? Who got them, him and Miles?)
Richard... finally just gone... ?
Miles brings back the funny.
Jack taking over as Jacob, but something sure feels fishy about that. It was too... simple. There will be some plot twist by the end with that.
Who let Desmond out? Was it Sayid? But didn't Sayid say he was still in the well?
And that's just the on-island stuff. As Bond said (though I disagree with the implication that the on-island stuff isn't interesting), the off-island stuff is even more intriguing.

Jacob and MIB really do need a spin-off show. First their Jimmy Kimmel skit and now this:
Jacob has a problem with touching people.

MIB and Jacob have mommy issues.

Now they're British!

Any predictions for the finale?
It will turn out that many years in the future, Hurley underwent cosmetic surgery and went back into the past where he became known as Richard Alpert. This was all part of his plot to kill Sawyer, but he forgot that Sawyer can only be killed when he's either 23 or 42 years old.
