Where do you play handheld games?

I won't lie. I'm gathering up anecdotal evidence for a blog post.

This thread is for those of you who have a handheld. By that I mean a handheld designed specifically for game playing (ie not cell phones or Blackberries).

If for some reason you want to know what point I'm making, come back after there have been a few replies.

My handhelds are generally only used when I'm traveling or have a longer than average commute (Let's say >30mins)

It's hard to play like outside outside what with the issues of sunlight and not being able to see.

I play my DS on my couch, when I feel like watching something and playing something at the same time.

I don't ride a bus or anything so I never have time to be playing a game outside the house.

Most of my hand held gaming is done at home. Music is for commuting. I did, at one point, game during car rides on family trips. Now I mostly mix music, napping, and socializing.

I use my hand held games in bed or on the couch. Hand held gaming is one step lazier than regular gaming.

Up until my Junior year of high school I generally played games on the bus and during car rides, in between and even during some classes. FFT:Advance got me into a lot of trouble, including playing in psychology class, and many other classes, but specifically psych.

I also used to make moves while I was driving and got stopped at a red light. dedication.

Anyway...

I generally don't play my handheld as often as before, especially on trips now as I usually drive or we're socializing quite a bit, especially on the way home from tournaments as we generally talk about all the sweet stuff we did and the people we beat, what we fucked up on, or what we did that was so awesome.

However... When a game comes out I really can't stop playing which hasn't been too often with the DS but it does happen... I will play it nonstop until I finish it. So I'll take it pretty much everywhere with me except the shower.

I mostly play my DS at home, because that's where I spend most of my time. I sometimes play it on the train.

I rarely play it in other public places. I think it makes me look impatient, unable to handle some minutes without anything to do.

I have only very rarely played a handheld anywhere other than the home. I'm the kind of guy who bought a Game Boy Player as soon as it came out and never touched my GBA afterwards.
