Gamestop has it brand new for 20 bucks! That's how I got mine.

What's your PSN ID?

The only game I have as of right now is Super Street Fighter 4 though.

I'm probably going to go pick up some stuff at gamestop tomorrow if I can think of some things I want. Not going to buy heavy rain even though I want to play it badly.

At least I keep telling myself that, but know when I get to Gamestop tomorrow I will be highly tempted. Highly...

There are no places near me to rent the game. Nor do I know anyone who owns it. :s

I'm getting a router within a few weeks I'm hoping (as I can't do much else anyways), so I'll at least play you at some SF4 when I get hooked up.

I also have Valkyria Chronicles.
I'm about to beat it.
Maybe after I do we can work something out, who knows.
Although that wouldn't solve your "someone near me" problem.

Actually I could ship it to you or something if you want since I finished the game already.

Took me forever cause I suck at SRPGs but I finished it.

And I'd recommend a Gamefly kiosk on a college campus if you know of one. It's two bucks a day but it's like an eight hour game I've heard.

Over/under on how long it takes before Moogle finds something to complain about?

I got valkyria today. Thanks for the offers. I drove 2 hours to get it though. I fucking love the game so far.

I'll take you up on the SF4, but I only have super not the regular version. :D

Also I picked up Demon's Souls. That game is retarded hard. That is all. Back to Valkyria chrons I suppose.

any of you guys have Killzone 2? I just got it, playing the campaign right now, very beautiful game, the only thing I didn't like was looking around, it felt too slow. Like an automatic car accelerating

I'm going to complain now and appease earl. It seems like the loading times on PS3 take forever. This goes for all 3 games I have played so far.

I even installed Valkyria Chronicles hoping to help solve this problem. I don't really see that it made any difference honestly.

It's not unbearable, but I haven't played the stuff you have..

I know Uncharted 2 is kinda long when you first start a new campaign or load a save game but then that goes away.

At least it's not DMC4 with the bullshit install times.

Well Valkyria took about 25 minutes which wasn't bad. Demon's Souls wasn't unbearable, just long. However the game is beautiful and mega challenging so I'll forgive it, also the massive levels it loads up explain the loading time. Super Street fighter 4 just honestly takes way too long and I don't know why. SF4 wasn't that bad as I've played it on PS3 consoles many times as it's tournament standard.

You bought Demon's Souls too? Fuck, now that means I have to finish Eternal Sonata even faster!

God damn MW2

Yes, SF4 load times are far too long. Some halfway decent pre-loading of resources or just keeping of resources in RAM would make a huge difference.

For example, probably the majority of the time when you die, you are going to replay that level again. So why not just keep that level and character all in RAM while you switch to the character select screen? I mean, that's basic programming skills.

I don't find load times unbearable at all.
In fact after installing Valkyria (for example) the average load time is maybe 3-5 seconds for me.

The longest hinderance I've found in a PS3 game is saving in FarCry 2, which takes all of 10 seconds. That, and in Tekken 6 pre-installing the game load times were 20 seconds, but after install almost instantaneous.

Maybe something's wrong with your system? I've never had a single person complain (then again you are the master of it) about load times in a PS3 game (unless they haven't installed the game).

I will vouch for big PS3 load times, specially since i switched from a 360 to a PS3, the load times in comparison (even with the game NOT installed on 360 and installed on PS3) are really big, for example on GTA 4, as it starts loading with the art slideshow, i saw some i had never seen before on 360, it even loops back to the first one.

And ill add this just to vent, why is it that they can make games look shit awesome like MGS 4, but every other multi console game looks like crap on ps3?

Probably something in the way they code the game or something. Just because the game needs to do the same thing on different consoles doesn't mean the engine or the coding and scripting isn't any different.

But that's mostly because devs are lazy.

I may be the master of complaints but yeah switching from PS3 to 360 seems the load times take forever.

Of course I don't have 2 of the same games for both systems to compare, but I expect that to change in July as I get blazblue:continuum shift for both systems.

I know absolutley nothing about Blazblue (and am too lazy to look it up), so forgive me if this is an incredibly ignorant answer with a simple easy answer.

Why would you buy the same game for two different consoles? Is there some bonus to having two copies? Is it to compare? Do you just really like it (or expect to like it, I guess) and want it to be successful?

2D or 3D fighters are always better with the PS3 D-pad I find, unless he's using an arcade pad to play that.

I mean the 360 D-pad is shitty. Really shitty.

Haha. I have custom arcade sticks for both my 360(the street fighter 4 fightstick with modified buttons and stick) and PS3(My PS2 custom stick built from the scraps of high grade finished and polished cherry wood which I got for free and using a usb adaptor to use it with PS3).

I will be getting both because I'm heavy into the competitive scene and I have people on both networks who I will want to play blazblue with. The updated version is much better in terms of balance and All that, and definitely very interested in playing it with everyone I know. That's what will warrant the 2 games.

btw moogle, I was meaning to ask, since I havent had a chance to play SSF4 myself, how are you liking it so far compared to the regular version? is Sagat still god tier? heard Ryu's SRK has crappier properties now, aaand what are your thoughts on guy and ibuki :P

Sagat got nerfed, gief got nerfed, ken got buffed, ryu got nerfed.

Basically a general overall balance. Ibuki is very good now. Don't know if you played 3rd Strike but she has all her reset and mixup shenanigans, a few more target combos, SF4 style links that go into target combos, and her super jump cancel from her target combo of standing lp,mp, crouching hk, standing hk is a whole lot easier. This is also the same SJC cancel you need to tk her qcf hk special which is the move that you did in 3s to get the run under after the launch from the standing hk at the end of her target combo. In other words she is buff as hell now because she does a ton of damage and is fast. However she's still squishy.

Guy is pretty mid tier. A lot of characters flat out beat all of his pokes in every way. His mixup isn't very good outside of the corner. All of his combos are still situational. The most upsetting thing is the way SF4 juggles work took away a lot of his alpha 3 combos. Like final fight combo, link standing lp qcb hk. Which was the way he could combo into qcb hk anywhere on the screen in Alpha 3, but they took that away since in Alpha 3 an air hit was a guaranteed combo. Overall he's pretty hard to play compared to other characters, and he's not the same goodness that was alpha 3 (He was top tier in that game because of his amazing normals and high damage output.)
