Welcome one and welcome all, to the GameTavern Battle Royale. Characters from the world of film, television and video games, duke it out to be crowned the GameTavern Champion.
Our first round match-ups shall be fast-paced and intense, lasting only a day so that we can get through 32 match-ups in no time.

Hank Scorpio (Albert Brooks) is an evil genius. He is also the cheerful, friendly owner of Globex Corporation. Scorpio is considered by some to be Albert Brooks' best voice performance on The Simpsons[58] and for this and four other guest performances he was named the greatest guest star in the show's history by IGN[58]. Brooks ad-libbed many of his lines.[59] Homer and his family never knew that Scorpio is an international criminal and they will never know about it. His name is a reference to Frank Serpico.

Mario (マリオ?) is a fictional character in his eponymous video game series, created by video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as Nintendo's mascot and the main protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Though originally only appearing in platform games, starting with Donkey Kong, Mario currently appears in video game genres such as racing, puzzle, role-playing, fighting, and sports.
Mario is depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. He repeatedly stops Bowser's numerous plans to kidnap Princess Peach and subjugate the Mushroom Kingdom. He also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong and Wario. Since 1995, Mario has been voiced by Charles Martinet.[1]
