Welcome one and welcome all, to the GameTavern Battle Royale. Characters from the world of film, television and video games, duke it out to be crowned the GameTavern Champion.
Our first round match-ups shall be fast-paced and intense, lasting only a day so that we can get through 32 match-ups in no time.

Captain Planet is the title character of the series. In the beginning of the series, Gaia assembles a modern-day team of "Planeteers" assembled from several nations. When the modern-day Planeteers combine their powers to summon the elemental warrior, this incarnation takes on the appearance of a superhero, who takes on the superhero-like name of "Captain Planet." Perhaps because he is linked to the minds of teenagers, Captain Planet displays a wry sense of humor and often uses puns while taunting the show's cast of villains.

Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Halo universe, created by video game developer Bungie. Master Chief is a playable character in the trilogy of science fiction first-person shooter video games Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. Outside of video games, the character appears in the novels Halo: The Fall of Reach, Halo: The Flood, Halo: First Strike, and Halo: Uprising, and has cameos in Halo media including Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, The Halo Graphic Novel and Halo Legends. He is voiced by Chicago disc jockey Steve Downes in the video games in which he appears.
