Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Link, Cloud, Bomberman, and Simon Belmont. The classics. I'd say Master Chief could be a backup though.

I definitely agree with the first 5. Not the last two though.

Link - Tactician, weapons expert
Bowser - Brute force and literal fire power
Captain Falcon - Transport and hand to hand combat
Kirby - Ability absorption and aerial spy

Yeah, the last two are definitely the weak links in the list. I couldn't think of anyone else though. Hmmm...maybe Kirby and Samus? That just seems to make the list pretty Nintendo-heavy though.
