This is...crazy. The Redskins weren't even thrown about in the trade talks, that's what surprises me the most. We'll see him twice a year for a while I imagine if the Redskins extend his deal. Even though I knew the trade was coming, it's still shocking. I'll always root for him though. Even though I don't like Washington, I'll root for him to win a Super Bowl once the Eagles go 6-10 this year.

Also, here is the cheesiest, sentimental youtube video of all time (just the song, really, so bad yet so good)

While I had my moments as a McNabb hater, I came to accept him as a very good quarterback years ago regardless of his limitations. I always thought he didn't have the final pieces needed to be truly great, but I will look back on the decade of McNabb very fondly. He gave us a lot of entertaining, competitive football.

That said, it was time to go.

I think the funniest thing about this is what it says about the Eagles needing press against the Phillies, who are the best team Philadelphia has seen in 30 years. They always have to be the center of attention somehow. Go Phillies and go Redskins (14 games of the year)

I'm not sure how I feel about this (other than indifference because I'm not from Philly) but my understanding is the Skins suck enough the Eagles won't have to worry about getting crushed by McNabb.

Personally, I think you had to see this move coming.

I think everyone saw the move coming, but within the division is kind of shocking. I thought they'd ship him to Oakland or Buffalo despite his feelings about going to those places.

Hello, football noob here. I know who Donovan McNabb is, but it feels to me like he's been around forever. Is he still any good?

He is really good. But I guess the chemistry wasn't there or it wasn't there enough with the Eagles organization.

Because the Redskins are in the division, they know the Eagles, and McNabb will definitely know how to play against them. The Redskins have given us some hard games, even in the past few years, while they haven't been that good. This will just make winning the NFC East even harder for the Eagles. I don't expect much out of them this year. Hopefully they can surprise me.

I remember when another team traded their aging hall of famer to the Redskins.. how long it took them to get out of the first round of the playoffs. But that was actually a good franchise.. we'll probably be counting the years until Philly makes it to the playoffs to begin with.

Why do people always have to bring racism into it when it comes to Donovan McNabb? Are there racist fans in Philly? Of course, there are racist fans everywhere. Nothing is especially racist about Philly.

1) He was booed because the Eagles didn't pick a black running back.

2) Brian Dawkins is darker than McNabb and he is worshiped in Philly. He received a standing ovation last year when he came to play with Denver.

The fact is Donovan was never liked because he had a horrible attitude for a Philly athlete and he choked in big games. Did Philly ever reach out to McNabb? At times I think so. Did McNabb ever reach out to Philly after the draft incident (that had nothing to do with him)? Never. There lies the problem.
