Trying out let another new feature (unless did this one already, who knows?)

The long and short of it is this, is GTA IV an overrated or underrated game?

It is the sequel to the biggest game of the last generation, and offered the first fully functional online feature of the series.

Now that its been out for almost 2 years, what is the over/under on how GTA IV did?

I think that it was a little overhyped. I'm always going to the enjoy the PS2 GTAs more than any other, and while it was fun...my overall opinion is meh.

Most overrated game of this generation. The story loses any value over time, the world is uninteresting to explora and the shooting is still not up to speed with other games of this era.

It's...not a sequel. :ohreilly:

I really like it.
I still haven't beaten it, but I find it immensely fun to just drive around and commit crimes. I like to live vicariously through it, you see.
It's a beautiful game - and it has by far the best simulation of being drunk I've ever seen. They should use that to get the point across instead of making those shitty MADD games to try teach little kids about drinking and driving.

I also find the online pretty fun.
I mean, obviously the game was hyped a lot - it was one of the first major titles for the PS3, and it lived up to the hype, I think.

I think it was overrated. What they did with the City was very impressive, but story and gameplay wise I was not so impressed...seemed like it was just talk to someone, go kill someone, and repeat.

Definitely overrated. I sold my copy a short time after I beat it.
