I don't know how popular Castlevania is in GT, but I've been in the Dracula-slaying mood, so I've been playing some old Castlevania games whenever I have the chance.. mostly for nostalgia, but also because they're just so much fun.
Just finished Dracula X and Super Castlevania IV. I'm going into the GBA ones (which are my probably my favorites). Currently playing Aria of Sorrow again. Circle of the Moon is also great and under-appreciated. I'll go back to the NES games sometime soon. I did play through the first title.
Never played any of the N64 ones (heard they were kinda bleh) and I did enjoy Lament of Innocence on the PS2. The new Castlevania kinda looks like a God of War clone, but we'll see, I guess.
Anyway, what about you guys? Any fans?
and some awesome Castlevania music:

Wait the GBA games are your favorites? Does this mean you skipped out on Symphony of the night or something? All the 2d games to follow basically copied what SotN did and then changed some stuff, which in the long run made them basically as good as SotN.
I can't believe SotN wasn't even mentioned.
Shame. Unless by Dracula X you meant SotN, however Dracula X is actually a different game here in the US.

I've only played the GBA games and the first two DS ones. The last GBA and the first DS as a direct sequel to it, are a couple of my favorite games. Alucard is a playable character in Dawn of Sorrow but haven't played SoTN.

Whoops. How did I forget SotN? I guess it must be since I haven't played it in years. I did love that game very much. The horrible voice acting just added to it's awesomeness. However, I didn't get the entire map in that game complete. Didn't get to see.. Maria?.. run off to chase Alucard.
ALSO, QUESTION:
Worst Death boss battle?

I guess this was perfect timing, as Rondo of Blood was just released on the Virtual Console and believe first time available in the States on a home console (believe there is a PSP version)
And there is also Castlevania Rebirth for Wiiware, was tempted to get one or the other, but not quite sure the general opinion on m

The only Castlevania games I've completed are the GBA/DS ones (sans Order of Ecclesia). I've played most of them, save Dracula X I think. I love the series although I feel it goes underappreciated in general. I need to play Lament of Innocence again, and I also have Curse of Darkness which Ihaven't played. SotN also needs to be finished but I'm happy because I still have an original copy of that.
Of the GBA/DS ones I gotta say Aria of Sorrow is favorite. Dawn of Sorrow was great, but definitely not as good. Circle of the Moon was great as well. My only gripe with Harmony of Dissonance was the lackluster sound, and amazingly easy difficulty.
