So my laptop decided to die today. RIP laptop.

This was the way that I connected my xbox to the interwebs, and also the way that I connected my desktop to the interwebs.

Until I can get a wireless card for my desktop, or until I can figure out a way to hook up my desktop and 360 to the internet, I will not be on XBL or on any messenger programs.

Le Fail.

So if you guys need me, text me I suppose.

You can't text message break up!

Also don't worry I can still check a computer frequently for Mafia stuff and also for regular stuffs.

How were you using your laptop to connect them? Was it functioning as a hub or as a router?

Seems to me like getting a couple of long Ethernet cables would be a cheap solution.

This is why you don't bring your laptop into the bathtub to watch gay porn. :bath: :lolz:

Hub.

There are no cables long enough to run downstairs unless I make them myself (not even sure I remember exactly how to do that too much either), and I'm not allowed to drill a hole in the floor which was my suggested solution. Hehe. So a wireless card was my cheapest solution. Well either that or buying one of those cute little mini-laptops, unfortunately that will have to wait if I want to finish school haha, and I almost did it thinking about how much I used my laptop in my coding classes, but realized that 1 GB of ram and shitty specs wouldn't be good for compilers. :s

Oh and to explain what happened to my laptop:

For a long time the case that housed the monitor, or screen or whatev the fuck it's called on a laptop, was cracking on the sides that were joined together to house it.

Well basically I picked it up, closed, but the top half of the screen casing tumbled to the floor along with the screen, then this other part of the casing fell off and allowed the innards of the laptop itself to come crashing onto the floor.

So I don't know that much about laptops on the inside, but I'm hoping I can at least find the harddrive later, and hook it up inside my desktop, and save dem files. Specifically the music files because I really don't want to go through more trouble than they're worth. I would take them all off my ipod, but appears I cannot do that again because I've already done it 5 times or some gay bullshit?

Also a lot of my photos weren't on facebook, and those that were, well they're all tiny and not in their 12 megapixel goodness. That's no fun!

Hey in more awesome news my desktop died yesterday too. I put in Wireless card, close case, plug everything back up, and surprise, power supply actually catches on fire.

There were flaming wires boys and girls.

So have no idea if only power supply got fuck or if everything got fucked.

Someone out there hates me, obviously.

I'm monetarily tapped out, so I guess I'm computerless for a while. Hooray for life.

Fuck My Life.

Man, what terrible luck. I've had plenty of computers die, but one never actually exploded.

Haha it was more of just, smoke started rolling out of the case. I was like "WTFUX?!" Then I unplugged the shit out of it, and opened up the case again to see the coating on the wires all melted and gross.

That sucks man. I was in the same situation as you about a year ago. I solved it by picking up a blackberry and using the shit out of an unlimited data plan. At the risk of sounding like an ad, its literally the best phone purchase i ever made. Granted you could probably get away with an iphone too. Granted you will might get an STD from being f**ked by apple every update in the future.

I'm trying to figure out whether fuzztop is a bot or not... Haha. If he is, it's the most clever bot ever.

FuzzTop is gimpy! Perhaps he was a bit before your time? Regardless, he's not a bot.

Oh noes, I remember gimpy. Now I know.

Anyway I do the pay as you go thing now. I'll probably go back on a contract when the Windows 7 Phone comes out. It uses a Zune-like interface and is shaping up to be what I'm looking for. I was planning on getting an iPhone when I got back to KY, but my mind has changed.

Its a good call. I'm holding off on the iphone myself until the 4g variant comes out. WinMo 7 definately seems like the best candidate for the time being. Granted Android is becoming more and more attractive everyday.

The way I see it, the Apple OS on the iphone is like Paris Hilton, everyone begrudgingly can't help but want it, even if there are online videos showing it naked. Windows Mobile 7 is more like the Demi Moore of the bunch, ie, its been around the most, but after so much modifications it looks brand new again. And Android is like your best friend's 16 year old sister, it looks good, you even have friends that have messed around with it, but all things considered its better to just not take the risk.

Well my original plan was to get the iphone and jailbreak it as soon as I purchased it. Android does look pretty tasty though.

I see android more as, it looks really good, but word around the street is, it might have given some people crabs, and even condoms don't stop crabs.

I think I'm going to hold out for a Windows 7 phone too- and the Windows/Xbox Live integration looks sweet.

What exactly will the xbox / winmo 7 connection entail?

Not 100% sure, but there has been speculation on ability to play some arcade games and stuff, and well as communicate with those on your xbl list.
