So I'm helping plan a party that has a Winter Olympics theme. Since those Olympics are in Vancouver, Canada much of the theme of the food/beverage will be Canadian themed.
So, what should we have/make?
We've been in looking into finding some Canadian Microbreweries. Sure, we could have Molson or Labaat, but that's kind of boring. What are your favorites? I'm not even sure if we can even find them here (I'm not sure I've seen a Canadian microbrew in the States), but we might as well look.
Of course we'll have some Canadian Whisky and maybe some Yukon Jack. I'd have ice wine, but it's kind of expensive. Any other weird booze I should know of?
In terms of food, we don't have much. We've thought of Poutine which we'll have. We're gonna be cliche and have a lot of maple based desserts. We'd be having a lot of Candian bacon, but the guest of honor doesn't eat red meat.
So any suggestions for a good, traditional Canadian main course? I think we'll have some seafood, but I don't know. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Canadians!
