2. Minnesota Vikings (12-4)
3. Dallas Cowboys (11-5)
4. Arizona Cardinals (10-6)
5. Green Bay Packers (11-5)
6. Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)
AFC:
1. Indianapolis Colts (14-2)
2. San Diego Chargers (13-3)
3. New England Patriots (10-6)
4. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6)

I might change my picks by Saturday, but we'll see. I just want to get something down. I'm not picking the Cowboys to win a game, regardless of their hot streak.
12. San Diego Chargers
11. New Orleans Saints
10. Indianapolis Colts
9. Minnesota Vikings
8. New England Patriots
7. Philadelphia Eagles
6. Green Bay Packers
5. Cincinnati Bengals
4. Dallas Cowboys
3. Baltimore Ravens
2. Arizona Cardinals
1. New York Jets
I'm not really sure what to do with the NFC this year. It's very well balanced. The AFC is very clear to me, so I'm definitely sure about my picks in respect to that conference.
Zebra, I think you may have inverted your order? Top team should be 12, bottom team should be 1 (when a team wins you get how many points you assigned to that team).

I'm thinking I should put the Eagles at the top just like you put the Packers at the top, because they're my team, but I really don't know. If they hadn't lost yesterday then I definitely would have done that.

I don't have it in my heart to pick against the Eagles. I keep going back and forth, thinking the Eagles can't play that badly and lose 2 in a row to Dallas, but they very well might. Alright...

It's interesting that three of the wild card matchups are games from this past weekend. The only difference is that the Cincinnati game moves to Cincinnati instead of staying in New York.

Yeah, I find this strange too. I know there was one scenario where all four could have been the same. I believe if Houston got in and played at New England somehow...

I'm curious to see how Dallas, New England, and Minnesota all play. I think the Eagles are done for and I wouldn't be all that shocked to see a close game between the Jets and the Bengals.
On the other hand, I always suck ass at predicting football so everyone should ignore me. :D
Wow, seven players. I think that's the most we've had in quite some time. I'll try to update the standings frequently.

Woo! Karma is good, the universe is in balance.
WOOOOOOOOO!
I am so happy they are gone. I can never forgive Cedric Benson for what he did to the Bears. That was totally appropriate for Thomas Jones and the Jets to beat down the Bengals.
Now the Cowboys just need to crush the Eagles and everything will be peachy good.
What exactly did he do to the Bears again? Seems like an okay fellow to me.
KillerGremlin
01-09-2010, 09:25 PM
The Bears used their first round draft pick on him. He was like the 4th overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Then Benson had contract issues and blew off training and missed all of the summer training. He then had issues with the Bears coaching/management. He was in contention with Bears head coach Love Smith, and in my opinion he diminished the [successful] career of running back Thomas Jones who was playing great for Chicago. Then, to top things off, Benson went and fortified his criminal record before the Bears decided to kick his ass off the team for being an idiot.
More here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedric_Benson#Chicago_Bears
There are two sides to EVERY story, and the other side is that the Bears management is awful. The Bear's management is just as responsible as Benson is....and I doubt I'll ever be able to forgive the Bear's GM either.

Fitzgerald gets away with way too much contact if you ask me. Woodson would have gotten that call if he was a pro bowl WR instead of a CB.
Amazing catch by Jennings, though. And it's back to a 14 point game.

Wow, GB got sooooooo lucky he missed. As much as I hate GB, Arizona deserved to miss that kick.
Back in '98, Vikings kicker Gary Anderson hadn't missed a kick since before dinosaurs, and he had an easy kick to take the Vikings to the Super Bowl... and missed, and Arizona took the place that was rightfully ours. So I was quite happy to watch them throw away their free ticket to round 2 :D

That was Atlanta, not Arizona. Last year was Arizona's first ever Super Bowl appearance.
And damn...A defensive TD to end it. Weirdly appropriate I guess.

Man, tough loss.
Warner just kept picking apart GB's pass defense the entire game though. GB couldn't seem to really protect the middle too well.
That was a bad way to end it though, especially for Rodgers.

Yeah that's a rough beat for the Packers...it was an exciting game though, that is for sure. It's also a rough beat for me since I figured the Cardinals were guaranteed to get knocked out.
I realized that, in my post-depression, I forgot to update the standings, which I will do shortly.
In the mean time, thought you guys might like this brilliant idea from a Packer forum I sometimes visit, posted by "Mr Fixit":
I hear ya gracias,
but robots and lasers and computers could make it so there are no mistakes. If a robot can build a car, and computers can fly the space shuttle, and lasers can drop a bomb with pinpoint accuracy, then they should be used to make NFL officiating mistake free.
That's all I got to say for now, gotta run some errands. But think about it. Why not use computers, lasers and robots? Each play could be scanned as it unfolds, play recognition software could determine any and all infractions, and robots could make the calls. In fact, the robots could fly around on wires like the camera's do, and stay out of the way of the players. How many games have been blown because the ref was in the way?
You guys might not like it, but only when the games are officiated by computers, lasers, and robots will travesties like that one that befell Packers Nation when the worthless refs stole the game from us be averted.
ROBOTS, LASERS AND COMPUTERS ARE THE ONLY WAY!

Yeah, as someone who despises the Cowboys, I loved that game. However, I'm rooting for the Saints next week. If Favre wasn't on the Vikings I'd have an easier time rooting for them. They are second in line if the beat the Saints. I'll root for them over either AFC squad.

Favre should have run it instead when he threw that interception. They would have definitely been in field goal range. He blew that. The Saints got some calls from the Refs that they shouldn't have in OT. I'm kind of frustrated that it ended that way. I wanted the Saints to win when I started watching, and then I didn't care as it went along. The Vikings did have 5 turnovers though, so they did screw themselves over with that.

I've had this locked down since last weekend, the only way I wouldn't have come out on top is if the Vikings had won, and even then it would have been close.
And I really must give credit to the Jets, their two wins helped push my lead, and if they had won yesterday would have been even sweeter.
