The 2009 movie season is almost to rest with the large major blockbuster being released on Christmas day so its time to look ahead to 2010.

Which looks like it will be a good year on paper.

The main tentpoles of the year include a sequel to Iron Man, Toy Story, Twilight and the first half of the final chapter in the Harry Potter saga, but let's start at the beginning.

Jan

Book of Eli

Denzel hardly has bad movies, but I can't remember his last major breakout movie either.

Legion
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u8lGCjd9W8U&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u8lGCjd9W8U&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Daybreakers
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ayYiMygqlfo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ayYiMygqlfo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Feb

Valentine's Day
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jSS-QPdiiiY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jSS-QPdiiiY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
You know that movie that happens to fall around Valentine's Day every year that a boyfriend/husband is supposed to take their significiant other to or force being shunned... well this movie doesn't even hide its intentions in the title...

The Wolfman
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS02xaTIdRI

Percy Jackson
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8CIF_kH2mWI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8CIF_kH2mWI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Color me surprised, I mean sure the title is a mouth full, which is why I haven't included it, but it looks good, and I do enjoy some Greek mythology.

From Paris with Love
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1sLG0owba0E&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1sLG0owba0E&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I'll be frank, I checked out this trailer due to its Bond connection, it looks ok.

Shutter Island
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HYVrHkYoY80&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HYVrHkYoY80&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I swear I've been seeing previews for this movie for over a year, and I thought it was out already.

Takers
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NDx3uLl26Vw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NDx3uLl26Vw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

March

Bounty Hunter
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wjoGEWYoHFo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wjoGEWYoHFo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Green Zone
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F20ovcLI29s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F20ovcLI29s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
With Bourne 4 in limbo, this looks like the closest thing. I mean it stars Bourne and is directed by Bourne's director... so

Alice in Wonderland
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMiCJefpn9Q
Its Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, I'm just afraid that there quirky may soon wear thin.

How to Train your Dragons
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4Ihc3lEi7pw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4Ihc3lEi7pw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Clash of the Titans
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qpZ5D_Wc4cA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qpZ5D_Wc4cA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

That goes until April, shall start on April and beyond when bored.

Legion looks hilariously terrible.

I'm very excited about Clash of the Titans, though.

I'm really excited for Knight and Day, which they showed a trailer for before Avatar.

Book of Eli. Denzel and Oldman, so the acting will be good...but think rather read/watch The Road for my post-apocalyptic fill.

Legion. Meh. Demonic creatures are nice and all but getting kind of tired of these heave vs hell things. Last one I enjoyed was Gaiman's and Pratchett's Good Omens. That would be a cool movie.

Daybreakers. Really looking forward to this. Like vampire movies done well...hoping will be good.

Valentine's Day. That's a lot of pretty people.

The Wolfman. Awesome.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Shall be listening to the audio book soon.

From Paris with Love. Meh.

Shutter Island. Looks cool but then again I'm a sucker for any movie that revolves around a mental institution.

Takers. They walk away from an explosion without looking at it so of course it'll be a good movie.

Bounty Hunter. Weren't they just in a movie together? I thought this was a sequel at first.

Green Zone. Didn't know there was another Bourne movie coming out.

Alice in Wonderland. Excited for this more now that I know it's not just a retelling but a sequel.

How to Train Your Dragon. Looks fun. Want to see.

Clash of the Titans. Never saw the original but this looks cool. Love me some mythological monsters.

How to Train your Dragon uses the same dragon sounds as Warcraft 3 (TFT).

Green Zone uses the same aweful handycam as The Bourne Ultimatum.

Too many fantasy movies. Don't get me wrong, I like fantasy, but the quality doesn't look too good.

Legion really reminds me of terminator, If onnly arnold was playing that one guy >D.

Daybreakers, sounds interesting to me and I want to see it, at least they arent going with the crappy glow in the sunlight vampire stuff twilight's pushing.

The Wolfman just looks freaking awesome!

Percy jackson, I would propably watch it but it looks like crap, with the "clever" product placement and all. Then again it does have Rosario Dawson in it, loves me that woman.

Shutter island looks promising, lets watch dicaprio die in the end, he has a high mortality rate.

Takers look like crap but highly enjoyable.

Alice in wonderland, normally wouldnt care but tim burton will make me watch it (I hated willy wonka) love most of his stuff.

How to train a dargon, I will propably watch this out of my love for animation but it looks very run of the mill, I like the viking designs but the dragon... not so much.

Doesn't show anything, but shall keep an eye on it.

Date Night
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aspBKFz2dBI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aspBKFz2dBI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

This looks pretty fun. It seems to be a more comedic Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

Kick-Ass
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AT297PiDWFk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AT297PiDWFk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
The movie may be out before the story is finished in the actual comics, but a fun story so far.

A Nightmare on Elm St
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/B-tSvrkKx2Y&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/B-tSvrkKx2Y&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

May

Iron Man 2
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/siQgD9qOhRs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/siQgD9qOhRs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
The first one was awesome.
This one looks to be full of the same greatness.

Robin Hood
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KSqL9ygBCck&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KSqL9ygBCck&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

This looks nothing like the Robin Hood I know so who knows.

Shrek Forever
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/X7-UY1t7FNU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/X7-UY1t7FNU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zlqBjSYLep0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zlqBjSYLep0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Think May is kind of stacked.

Just finished listening to the audio book of Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. Quite enjoyable. Like a kids version of American Gods, except purely Greek mythology. Trailer looks like they changed a number of thing, most notable his age.

I'm excited about...

The Wolfman: It just looks cool. I like the idea of a throwback to he older horror movies.

Shutter Island: I've just been hearing about it for a while now. Scorcese doesn't always do it for me, but this has potential.

Alice in Wonderland: I'm kind of intrigued, though recently I haven't liked Tim Burton's movies as much as I used to, but we'll see.

Greenberg: Directed by Noah Baumbach who did The Squid and The Whale and writes with Wes Anderson. Don't know much about it but it sounds like I'll like it.

Date Night: Well, it has Tina Fey and Steve Carell as leads, so that's enough to make me interested. Could also be super cheesy, we'll see...

A Nightmare on Elm Street: I still never really watch these remakes unless they get good reviews. Let's hope this one does too.

Iron Man 2: Liked the first, this looks good too

Toy Story 3: Gonna be good

John Cusack and that impressively funny kid from "Sex Drive." I can't wait to see it.
