I believe it's the Madison Capitol building. It certainly sticks out in that town.

The fourth picture is really beautiful. It's snowing here, but hardly enough to give us more than an inch. I've missed winter.

In typical Chicago fashion the weather has yo-yoed: first it was sleeting, that turned over to gorgeous snow (with these HUGE, fairy-tale like snow flakes), then it snowed....then it rained and the rain melted the snow, then it got cold as fuck and snowed again. So yeah it's like 8 degrees out with a -10 windchill (Fahrenheit), and maybe half an inch of snow cover.

I envy your snow. Stupid sleet and rain ruining a good thing.

It's gotten pretty darn chilly here in LA, almost to 40 degrees the other night!

Still didn't keep the college crowd from celebrating the middle of finals with the quarterly Undie Run though. Here's a pic I snapped from a nearby Frat house, and as you can notice, the cops came out in droves to make sure no illegal activity (see jaywalking) occured, aka used any violation as an excuse to cite students. The administration made the undie run against school policy last year.

We got socked pretty good for Central Iowa (Des Moines). City basically shut down Wednesday (even Wells Fargo my employer closed all offices/branches in central ia :lolz: ) Though the drive home Tuesday evening was beyond horrible but I loved it.

Pictures too "numerous" to list here so I'll just link the album on my Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/p.php?i=725533091&k=341YZ4WRTT6G6BD1TA56YTQ2Z6BAY4ZMRRAP&oid=1296504775946

Well, it's time for "Effing blizzard dude" round 2, this time in the North East/Mid Atlantic.

We're supposed to get 12-20 inches of snow today with winds from 20-50 MPH winds. And I don't think we're even getting the most snow around here. Pretty crazy for a December storm in this area. Anyway, Saturday snow day, though our recording session is canceled, so kind of a bummer.

UPDATE: Looks like the weather folks have been right so far. Snow is coming down heavily and steadily. I haven't been outside yet, but my car is absolutely buried to the point of my antenna being completely covered. I think we'll get close to 2 feet of snow. I hope some of it sticks around for Christmas.

There's been about 5 inches in Pittsburgh. I'll be going home tomorrow though, so I get to experience that 12-20 inches of snow. :) I can't wait!

It just took me about 30 minutes to dig out my car. It was a lot of freaking snow. I love it, but it does make some things a pain in the balls.

Official snow count in Philly was 23.6 inches. Pretty, pretty snowy.

It's snowing here too, but hardly that much. Maybe a cm or 2. :)

It's the most snowfall in Philly since 1996. This snow is a bear too. Wet and heavy. And we might get another hit on Monday.

Waaaaaaaaaah?? That's crazy. I had to look up Gmaps to see you weren't lying.

Talking about Gmaps, fun with Streetview:

The thing I heard on the news said it's the most snowfall we've gotten since 1870 (or since they started keeping records?)! Most on the record books. 71" so far. A normal winter gets 19" in Philly.

And yes, it just took me 25 minutes to get in my parking spot. I'm getting very tired of it despite the unique beauty of the snow storm.

That lane is going to get SO slippery when the melting snow freezes again.

But not as slippery as this. http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g294/Nycgal712/?action=view&current=portland-route-glissante.flv I'm watching it for the 4the time, amazing.
