The Dark Knight's single day box office record has been broken:

I stand corrected.
Earlier today, I speculated that, while New Moon did break The Dark Knight's and Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince's midnight box office records, Batman's single day record of $67.2 would still stand.
Well, The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in $72.7 million, leaving Batman's record in the dust. And it didn't take a leading actor's death to propel it either. Yeah... I said it.
Apparently dismal reviews for New Moon didn't stop tweeners from coming out in droves in support of the sparkling vampires and shirtless lycanthropes.
If this keeps up, Batman's $158 million three-day record may be in jeopardy as well.
Frankly, that's a world I don't want to live in.
:lolz:
edit: And yes, I did contribute to that.
