- McDonnell (R) wins Virginia governorship.

- Christie (R) wins New Jersey governorship.

Haven't heard anything about the New York house race.

I know many will make a huge deal out of Christie winning in Jersey, but to be honest that's more of a reflection of how terrible a governor Corzine was and is. The fact that Corzine actually got 40+% of the vote shows how blue of a state New Jersey really is.

Just heard on NPR that Virginia almost always votes in a governor from the opposite party of who is in the White House.

Virginia isn't the big surprise. New Jersey is pretty big news, though, at least it will be made into a pretty big deal since it's such a blue state.

That said: Corzine sucks. If Rendell (PA)was the governor, he probably would have won since he's a very competent Democrat Governor.
