I just got a call from a super energetic recording at Gamestop letting me know that Dragon Age will be in tomorrow afternoon. ( I preordered it).
Anyone else going to get?

You again with the games that nobody cares about...
Let's make this a Left4Dead2 thread?
Edit: Oh wait, that's Dyne I'm thinking about. Doesn't matter. Left4Dead2 is awesome!

I'd want to play a demo prior to purchasing. It has potential, but in games like this game play is everything.

PC version got a 9.5...I think solely because it looks better.
I can't believe you people are actually doubting something made by Bioware. :P

Borderlands got a better score which means Borderlands is better.
Dragon Age doesnt look that great, and I would rather play Mass Effect 2.
The whole med-evil stuff never caught my attention anyways, which is why I prefer Fallout over Oblivion.

Meh it looks like shit on the consoles and I don't know why because fallout 3 is just as massive as a game and looks great across the systems. I watched the video review from gamespot and it got such a good review because of the story which sounds pretty good, but also sounds like something I would rather read in a book. The gameplay looked boring, the camera looked shitty, and the graphics look meh for what I expected. Bioware is quickly becoming one of those game makers that is hit or miss.
I will wait for a game like Diablo III to come along and rule the world.

Did you buy it for PC? or console? I'm thinking of maybe renting the 360 version, though it sounds quite inferior to the PC version. Of course I have a Mac and don't care to do any bootcamp shit, wish more companies released Mac versions of their games.

So due to an Operating Systems test I had today I haven't gotten to play yet, and I have another exam Friday, so it's looking like I won't get to play until Friday evening.
But I did watch my girlfriend play, and it looks awesome so far. :D I think I'm going to either be a dwarf warrior or an elf rogue. Maybe a dwarf rogue, if the game lets me.

The 360 version. The PC version does look better, but when you have multiple people wanting to play the game, it's cheaper to get the 360 version. I also don't like stressing my laptop too much, so unless it's an FPS or RTS I usually opt for the console version of games.

What the heck are you talking about? XD Other than the Sonic game mentioned (which was just ok, not even 'bad') their games have all been fantastic.
Although I do agree that it could have looked better...but to be fair Bethesda has a lot more experience creating huge worlds and making them look good.
Borderlands got a better score which means Borderlands is better.
While I don't agree with your logic, it's not true anyway...at least not for the review I posted (gamespot).
It's averaging an 88/100 on metacritic. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/dragonageorigins?q=dragon%20age%20origins

Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's gate, Dragon Age. They use basically the same engine and they're all "Meh games."
Sonic was so exciting, I was pumped... No it was bad.
I dunno I just feel that the type of games they create are just meh.
Mass Effect was very good though.

Seems kinda subjective, especially considering Baldur's Gate is usually considered a classic.
I finally got some time to play this last night. I started a rogue with the dalish elf origin...by far one of the most eerie and enjoyable openings of any game I've played. I usually hate the beginning of games because they submerge you in so many tutorials and constantly break the third wall.
Not this game. You are instantly making choices which you -know- will affect something later on. I'm still not sure I made the right choices. It's very cool not having any responses which are obviously "good" or "bad". The responses are much more realistic to what an actual person might think or do in a given situation.
The way the game looks is so odd, though. Sometimes it has moments of breathtaking beauty, and others you're like "man, that's old xbox graphics". I'm not sure what is up with the inconsistency...and it's not even comparing gameplay to cinematics. Some things during gameplay just look better than others.
I also have to say I love the character creation system. The presets are actually really good, and it's not difficult at all to create a character that looks good.
