So it's getting to be that time of the year where my mom hassles me to tell her what I want, even though I tell her to stop spoiling me, but seeing as she won't budge, I'll just continue to take advantage of the fact that I'll get some good gifts for Christmas. Anyway, I haven't had much experience with sports games on the Wii, and I was wondering if any of you have played some of them, and what your thoughts are about that.

These are the sports games that I'm trying to decide between. I only want to get one of these games because I'd rather ask for other things for Christmas, such as cycling apparel, which is quite expensive, so I don't really want to get too many games, but I know I should at least get a new game for my Wii so it's not a waste of money that I own one. And yes I'll be getting the Super Mario Bros. Wii game, but I'd like to branch off of first party games.

Madden 2010
NHL 2K10
Fifa 2010
Pro Evolution Soccer 2010

I'm just not sure of how the game play works for these games, and I could read about it in reviews, but it's always good to hear the opinions from you guys. I'm expecting there to be a lot of competition between Fifa and PES, since they're both soccer games. And in that case, I would like to let you guys know that I would like to play a soccer game that also has the European club teams, and not just the National teams. Anyway, so what are your thoughts on the game play, and which do you think are solid games?

I have NHL 2K10, and while the graphics blow considering it's a 2K game, and for the Wii, it's actually really fun.

It's hard to get used to at first, but if you have Wiimotionplus, it's a lot easier - and even more fun.

I'd put my vote for NHL, because to shoot, you make a shooting motion, to cross-check, you make a cross-check motion - to stick lift, you make a stick lift motion etc. Its a fun thing to do when drinking with some friends.

Do you use both hands on the Wii remote then? And if so, is it long enough for you to comfortably use two hands? I know that the Wii Motion Plus adds some length, but I don't know, I have pretty big hands, so batting in Wii Sports, for example, has always been a struggle for me.

There are multiple ways to play NHL2K10.

You can use the classic controller, if you want. You can use the wiimote alone (turn it sideways, and only use a shoot/pass/check button layout, like classic Nintendo sports games), or you use the wiimote and the nunchuck.

The nunchuck controls the player via joystick, c button to skate backwards. The wiimote itself is basically the stick. It's not awkward at all, but like I said, it takes a little getting used to at first because no other hockey game you really have to interact with. I personally don't find a problem with it when I'm using it that way.

I've only played Madden 07 way back when, and it was a decent game, I'm sure they have refined the motions and stuff for the series.

Like mentioned, I've heard nothing but stellar things about PES so that would be my pick.

Yeah, I recall what you said to me. I was just looking for more opinions about the other games, especially NHL games, due to the vast amount Canadians here.

In my opinion, NHL 2010 from EA is far superior, but it's not on the Wii.
The other thing 2K10 on the Wii has going for it, is if you wan't to play Nintendo-style hockey, you can play using your Mii's, which is awesome.

PES has been inferior to FIFA on PS3 and 360 in the last 2 years. Especially FIFA 10. It'll wipe the floor with PES this year. But when you add in the motion controls, I'm not really sure what to say.

PES on the Wii sounds good because you don't control 1 player, but the whole game. I think. Something like that.

Don't take advice from me, I don't like sports games.
