I bought Spyborgs on the release date. I want to know if anyone else got it and what's their opinion on the game.

From what I've played so far the game is a tribute to old school gaming. It's a beat 'em up that strictly follows the rule of thumb of "Easy to learn, hard to master." While the game is simple, you have to keep track of the enemies at all times and be ready to use the block button when things get too hectic. So far I've been playing it on the regular dificulty ( called Core ) and I've died quite a lot of times. On one stage I had to try about 10 times or more to finally get past it.

You always have a secondary character during stages that can be controlled by the cpu when you don't have some to play with. While the CPU does a nice job at watching your back, it'd be nice to have online game play for when you don't have anyone to play the game with or lack a second controller (my case). But it is not there.

I'll write more in a second post. I'm running out of time here. But if you have the game, post your thoughts on it.

I've been looking at this game since it was revealed, but don't think its worth full price.

Just curious, when it was initially revealed it had a Saturday morning esque charm to it with some mini-games based on channel surfing, is the stuff still in or is it completely gone along with some of the characters?

When they first announced it the game was going to have a humorous setting.
Here is the first trailer:

Now, all of that is gone and there are no mini-games like that in the game. The game is now serious along the lines of Fox cartoons feeling. Ign said in their review that it (the game) had an identity crisis because it looks like a Saturday Morning cartoon making you think it's for kids. But the gameplay was actually hard. And it is true. The developers seemed to could have cared less about every single player managing to reach the end of the game. When you die a lot the game flashes a message on the screen which lets you know you can change the difficulty in the options.

Now, I like the mood of the game, but I'm not looking for any serious stuff here. It's like the megaman games where you just accept the settings and have fun with the game.

Hmm, I'm going to have to check this out before Brutal Legend and Uncharted hit.

I read that the invisible boxes/enemies are terribly annoying.

Yeah they supposedly just pop out of nowhere and don't leave until you interact with them.

At least the stealthed enemies haven't given me much trouble. But I still have a long way to go (at least from what I've heard the game is pretty long) and I don't have time for it right now. I won't finish it in some time either. It could be possible that later on they throw too many stealth enemies at you. What bugs me a bit is that I have not been able to find around 7 hidden tapes even though I play every level searching for them.
