Not only does it look stupid, but how dumb is it to release a movie called 2012 in 2009? I mean, releasing something called 2001 made sense, but why not just wait? Wouldn't it be way more suspenseful and thrilling to have this movie come out when the apparent disasters are right around the corner? It's like releasing a Y2K movie in 1997, who the hell cares?

What I dont get, is that the airplane pilot is flying level with everything falling down...
He could fly straight and still stay above everything collapsing, but he chooses to stay level with the falling buildings.

while it wont tickle nobody's intelectual bone, it seems like a visually entertaining movie to watch at home, i mean hell i watched transformers 2, its not on my soon to watch again list...if at all but you get the point.

Hmmm... looking at it a second time the movie seems to mock itself ("Take the highway, it'll be faster" and Cusack honking at a guy in his way) so I give them credit for that. Otherwise it looks to be a regular kind of disaster porn flick we've al become accustomed to. Good for a rental and bowl of popcorn, laugh at the plot, oogle the special effects and then forget about it.
