Oh man…talk about classic! ClayFighter’s original programmer Eric Hart is working on an updated version of the classic SNES fighter ClayFighter for both WiiWare and DSiWare. Interplay CEO Hervé Caen stated that:

“We are very enthusiastic to resurrect Clayfighter’s crazy characters and unique humor. Eric Hart’s involvement in the previous Clayfighter titles makes StudioBlack the logical choice to give this classic franchise a well-deserved makeover.”

The update will feature the now expected improved graphics and gameplay to “take advantage of Nintendo’s current generation hardware.” Little else is known but we do know this awesome revamped fighter will be hitting WiiWare and DSiWare in Summer 2010.

I loved Clayfighter 63 1/3. I'm really happy right about now.

Oh happy day! I fucking loved these games. SNES versions especially, N64 version not so much.

The only memory I have of Clayfighter is renting it at a now-defunct video rental store, being initially charmed, but ultimately underwhelmed.

I don't think I ever played 63 1/3. Saw cheats in a lot of those old cheat code books I used to see. Whatever happened to those anyway?

I used to love those games, specially the theme song on the original, I find it funny that back in the day with 63 1/3 i found out i could pull off any "fatality" by randomly moving the dpad around :D. to this day I dont know a single one of them yet pull them off by random moving of the pad :P
