I know we haven't done a PS3 thread yet, but I blame Dyne, but with the gaming season coming into full swing, just curious what games folks are looking to pick up between now and the end of the year?

Any of you have a ton of backlog games you wanna try? How about future prospects?

With my PS3 still unfixed, I probably won't pick up anything other than possibly scribblenauts.

My big hope is to get money for Christmas, and then fix the system, and subsequently buy Final Fantasy.

I'm picking up NBA 2k10... yeah exciting I know!

I'm actually considering getting the new Marvel Ultimate Alliance too. I have X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse for PSP, and I enjoy it a lot for some freakish reason. And Ultimate alliance is made by the same group.. I'm going to wait for reviews though, if its low enough I'll rent first.

Games I will definitely buy:

Katamari Forever (out next week. Some old levels, mostly all-new. PS3 exclusive!)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma II (way more options than 360 had.)
Uncharted 2
Demons Souls (Atlus RPG)

I can't remember seeing anything else I absolutely needed. And if there was anything, I would be getting it on the 360 (like Brutal Legend, NFS: Shift, Dragon Age: Origins, Borderlands, etc.)

My rule this gen is slowly becoming "Japanese game = PS3, Western game = 360." This rule is working extremely well. I just bought RE5 and me and my girlfriend are loving it, and the stuff looks photorealistic. Even if there isn't a developer location-based bias, it's a nice feeling to be on the safe side.

Unchatred 2
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time

Those are the only two games currently on my list for PS3. Everything else that is multiplatform is being played on my modded 360 :-D

I'm still getting used to the idea of paying $60 for a new game. For some reason, $50 is ok in my head, but $60 might as well be a $1000. I just don't see myself buying many games until they drop in price.

I know how you feel. Until the normal game price drops, I'm going to always rent first and make SURE its worth it before buying. Or just buy used...

I know exactly how you feel which is why I'm holding out hope on most of my games being purchased during the Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free sale (if they do it this year) usually go half and half with a friend or get 3 games (about 40 bucks a pop) or wait until black friday, most stores will sell games at like 40 bucks or so.

I see games for $79.99 here. Even though I remember paying something like that amount for Final Fantasy 7, it seems ridiculous now-a-days, for some reason.

Definite buys:
Uncharted 2
Modern Warfare 2
FIFA 10

Definite buys but I don't know the release date so I'll list them anyway:
God of War 3
Gran Turismo 5

I would also like to finish LittleBigPlanet, I've got 2 levels left.
And start Resistance 2. I haven't touched it yet, Modern Warfare has me hooked.
And also, Street Fighter IV. Modern Warfare keeps me from playing this as well.

Where the hell do you buy your games for them to only be 50?
New games have usually been 65+ here for the past 10 years.

I'm not a big fan of buying games at $60. There are a few that I give in for (Batman, Gears of War). Usually I try and wait till at least they drop to used. I got a Play-N-Trade near me that sells used $60 games for $50.

So needless to say:

MLB: The Show 09
Little Big Planet (GOTY Edition)
The Bigs 2
Uncharted (the first one)

The good thing about waiting until this past April to finally get a PS3, is that most of the best games are 30 bucks now, or less if you buy used. So far I have Rachet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fight Night Round 4 and Uncharted, and Fight Night is the only one I paid more than 30 dollars for and I had a gift card I used with it anyways..

But upcoming games that interest me are:

Uncharted 2
Possibly the new Need for Speed...
probably the new Ratchet and Clank, although I wasnt exactly blown away by the last one...
