I know not exactly a monthly thing, and it is Munk's idea, but just wanted to bat around some ideas we had.
Continue with the whole Zelda thing, I still need to finish Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, but certain that most everyone else has beaten OoT already.
A Metroidvaina game, I haven't finished Super Metroid and with Metroid Prime Trilogy recently out and Shadow Complex, thought would be a nice time to revisit this classic.
An RPG game, some people suggested something like Chrono Trigger or something, I think something like Phantasy Star which has probably been played by less people and maybe able to get more legally.
The Mario RPG showdown, probably save this for next summer when people have more time, but playing through Paper Mario and Mario RPG at the same time.
Any other ideas/suggestions/comments?

Super Mario Galaxy.
Super Mario RPG.

Majora's Mask has my vote, because I wanted to play it anyway.
Don't want to buy Chrono Trigger.
Don't have Super Mario RPG, would like to play it for the first time.
I'm already doing SMG with L.
Super Metroid is a good option, but I'd need to get my SNES over.

I say Wind Waker, because I've never beaten it before, I'm currently borrowing it from Dyne, and I want motivation to complete the game.

Super Mario Galaxy.
Super Mario RPG.
Interesting choices.
I guess Galaxy has potential the only question is, would we play until we beat it or until we completed it?

SMRPG is son Virtual Console, as is Paper Mario and Super Metroid. One of the reasons were picking these games were because if you don't own the original can find on the Wii's VC.

Now would you start over or join us where you are?
And where are you?

I'd be down with Majora's Mask or Super Metroid. The RPGs are definitely for some summer fun because there is definitely more time to complete all of them and there might not be as many obligations (school, etc.)
The Phantasy Stars are great, but they are as traditional as they get. We're talking spending hours leveling up to be able to move on to the new areas where you still get your butt smacked around, so that's a personal preference. I've never finished a Phantasy Star but I've always wanted to.

I vote for Majora's Mask.
How about FF7? Then I'll have an actual urge to finish it.

I beat it once, and I would never play it again. So much work for an end result that a) was already spoiled for me, b) I didn't really like.
VIII is better. IX is rawk.

RPGs are too long, and run the chance of people falling too far behind/losing interest rapidly.
One person may want to spend a day grinding while other wants to do sidequests.
Like I said, think better served for a summer game.

With my Mario Galaxy suggestion, I would think just until you beat the game - not get all 100 stars, as that can take some much longer than others.
With Wind Waker, I'd start over. I'm probably pretty far in (Just found out my talking boat was the king of Hyrule), but I don't mind starting over.
I vote against a Final Fantasy game for this.

I would be cool with Mario Galaxy. Wind Waker sounds fun, but I'd like to beat a Zelda I never have before, like Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess.

Okay so far it seems like MM and Mario Galaxy are forerunners.
I'm all for playing through it again (though as Luigi) and we have at least 2 more interested parties.
So I guess
Mario Galaxy
Majora's Mask
Wind Waker
cast your vote for one.

Majora's Mask
I'll replay Majora's Mask. It's super short. It's my favourite Zelda, and I have the Player's Guide for it. I've gotten 100% twice before and I can easily do it again.
We can't do Wind Waker because Sean has my copy, hahaha.

So nominate some other games.
And you have an n64, you could get MM.
I will join in one of these when a game for PS2 is picked.
Or maybe DS

Majora's Mask, definately.
There's also a ton of heart pieces I still have to find. :( I think it's the first Zelda game where I did not find all pieces.
