Another of Sony's well kept secrets (seeing how most of the internet knew about it like months ago)

PS3 Slim (120GB) is 32% smaller, 36% lighter, and has 34% less power consumption, will be available in stores from the first week of September for 299 euros, 299 dollars and 29,980 yen.

I'm still 100% sure I won't buy it.

It's still got the stupid curved top so nothing can be stacked on top of it. That's Sony's way of making sure they are at the head of your erection of electronics.

I am so glad I got a 20 gig and a 250-gig hard drive.

Price drop is pretty sweet though.

Nope, that's long-gone and not coming back unfortunately.

It is a dumb move, but to put it in perspective, you can get a PS2 slim for $100 at most, and used for $50. It's a pretty good deal.

I wouldn't stack anything on top of my system in the first place. That's silly.

Eh not really when space is limited.
Granted, I usually just stack games and movies on it.

My Wii is small enough to be stacked on top of my cable box with no issue or my Xbox.

I might finally buy a system for this gen.. though I've already beat MGS4... So then again maybe not.

What? Ignoring GTA4 and Valkyria Chronicles and a ton of others? MGS4 wasn't the best game this gen.

I played GTA4, not Valkyria though. MGS4 was the only game to come out this gen that was going to force me to buy a console.. but I was loaned a Ps3 and rented the game, and played through it.

Not saying any other games aren't as good or better, but they're more riskier for spending $300+ on a system. MGS4 is a classic, I'll still have to own it at some point or another. Plus I am kinda getting the itch to get newer sports games.

I haven't stacked anything on top of a system personally, since back in the days when it would cause a system to overheat - and backed up even moreso from all the times my friends Xbox (original) would overheat from having games stacked on it.

My Wii is stuffed in with a bunch of games.

Anyway, as soon as I see reviews about the quality of the Blu-Ray player, and assuming the reviews are positive, then I'll probably finally snatch this.

I guess since had Nintendo systems for the most part don't fear overheating.

I do remember all the tricks for making PSX works.
Playing them upside down was my favorite.

I just keep my actively playing games there, but as most can tell you... never can find the game I want when I need to. :lolz:

My Xbox 360 has games I'm currently playing stacked on top of it. But other than that I have it clear around all of the vents.

The only reason I'd ever get this is for the blu ray...and there are cheaper/better blu ray players out there now.

Really? Last I checked, while there were some better rated blu-ray players than the PS3, they were all however the same price or more expensive, all without the added bonus of playing games.

If I'm wrong, I'd be happy for you to point them out. :)

Do all of the Ps3s still include the wireless internet connectivity like the PSP?

Yeah, at least the new one has WiFi out of the box, along with an ethernet port around back.

I was thinking about getting a refurbished 80 gig one for $249, but I'm just going to wait it out til the slim one comes out. According to gamespot it'll be in stores on the 25th.

So not to be outdone... by themselves... Sony announced a new SKU

Not bad price in comparison to the 120 gig Slim.
