Vampire:

Many theories for the origins of vampire beliefs have been offered as an explanation for the superstition, and sometimes mass hysteria, caused by vampires. Everything ranging from premature burial to the early ignorance of the body's decomposition cycle after death has been cited as the cause for the belief in vampires.
Gremlins:

Randall takes interest in a small cute furry creature called a mogwai (which in Cantonese & Mandarin translates as "evil spirit" (literally), "devil", or "demon"). Mr. Wing, the Chinese boy's grandfather and owner of the shop, refuses to sell the mogwai, even when Randall offers $200 for it. This is money that the Wing family desperately needs, however. Therefore, Wing's grandson secretly sells the mogwai to Randall. Though the creature seems innocent enough, the grandson warns Randall that he must not let the mogwai near bright light, especially sunlight, which can kill the mogwai; must not allow water to touch the mogwai; and, most importantly, must never, ever feed it after midnight.
Sorry vampires, as much as I like you, you do not stand a chance against this -

Gremlins are possibly the best thing ever. I'm really hoping for a Chupacabra vs. Gremlins final.

Pfff, tough one! Gremlins are cool and all, but Vampires are epic... Need some time.

Vampires have that homosexual thing going on....
Gremlins are intelligent little sneaky creatures that cause mischief and mayhem. If you get them wet they reproduce. The earth is covered in liquids. If gremlins were real I'd be much more afraid of them. Not to mention gremlins have a sense of humor.
I mean of course I am biased here....
I've always felt that vampires fare better in comics or science fiction more than horror.

Speaking of scifi vamps, Daybreakers looks like an interesting premise.

I will watch this. I watch everything Sam Neill does. He's a pretty good barometer of whether or not a movie is worth watching, especially when it come comes to SciFi/Horror.
Jurassic Park
In the Mouth of Madness
Event Horizon
etc.

Ah, I didn't even notice Sam Neill in here. I love him in Jurassic Park. (I love everything in Jurassic Park.)

I like Sam Neill is a good actor but I just dont like the film since reading Michael Crichtons book, Jurassic park. If a new JP were made that was a true realisation of the book and of course it's sequal The Lost World then you would see the greatest movies ever made. As it happens, I am gonna read them again inspired by this ;)

Jurassic Park is a classic in my opinion, and the sequel The Lost World is also a good (albeit critically slammed) film. That's my opinion, and yes I have read both the books. The books obviously surpass the movie but Jurassic Park was a sci-fi horror and the sequel was just a straight up dino-eating-people fest.
I also like Sam Neill but I really like Jeff Goldblum.

The movie adaptation of JP was pretty good. Maybe the best I know of. Sure, it didn't follow the book page by page, but that would have been impossible. Unless they made it a miniseries of 6 hours long.
The Lost World.... awful. JP3 was better.

Jurassic Park 4 is going to kick ass.

I had that pterodactyl rider. :) Remember playing with it when I was getting enrolled for kindergarten. Those were the days.

When watching Ice Age 3, I realized how cool a 3D Jurassic Park would be.

The only 3D film I saw (other than Michael Jackson's Captain EO) was one about dinosaurs made just for IMAX back in middle school. I forgot my glasses though so I had blurry t-rexs popping out at me.

Blurry T-Rex's are the scariest, because you can never quite tell what they're looking at.
