Nintendo revealed that in the new GCN Legen of Zelda game, Link isn't on a quest to save Zelda but his sister!

A sister??
My idea was that he was in some kind of alternative dimension, where everything is cel-shaded. That would a cool way of explaining the graphics. I hope it's true.

Sounds pretty stupid to me ;)
but wow... saving his sister... I wonder why his sister's in danger... was it ganon? Or someone else? Or what? I WANNA KNOW
Someone also posted a topic on Ndose that had a link to some place that said something about Link traveling over land and sea... now, the only other time he's traveled over sea I think would be Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link...
But Imagine if the NGC zelda is like... has a huuuge world you can travel around on ships or horse or raft or anything through forests and mountains and all that, kinda like Final Fantasy games, but not as a world map... so Kinda like FFX, but less Linear :p
Bah whatever... anyways... I wonder if it will take place in hyrule...

Link: *grunt of disbelief*
Zelda: And you have a son.

"No, I am your sister"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... oh yeah..."
I don't know why. But I think that Ganon will not appear on this game. Maybe it's because it seems like they are trying to change the "Ganon kidnaps Zelda" stereotype.

There could be a lot of oppurtunities for this change...these are some of the things I can think of..
Link finds out about his sister, so he decides to see her, and Ganon kidnaps her.
A new foe kidnaps Link's sister and he has to save her.
Link's sister is the main bad ass of the game because she is possessed or evil has overtaken her and Link has to save her.
Link's sister is a magical goddess that wears speedos.
And so on..:-o

I don't know but I'd rather it be in Hryule. The past three games have taken place somewhere else.....
I don't care about a new villain. As long as its a good villain. I didn't really like the bad guys in the Oracle series...

Past 3 games? are you counting the GB ones? Cuz I havn't played any of those :D So for me, 2 of the last 3 zelda games I've played were in hyrule :p
But as long as the land is kinda like hyrule, it doesn't have to take place in hyrule if you can travel over a huge big world :sneaky:
not that anybody said that would happen in the first place :D
Can someone refreshen my memory? In Ocarina of Time I remember the Tree talking about Link's mother. What was the exact story? Also, why wasn't his sister mentioned then? Or was it that Link's mom gave birth to his sister afterwards?
Btw, how much time after Majora's Mask does this story take place?

Who said it will take place after MM? Zelda games have always hopped here and there around the timeline, havn't they? Like with multiple links, multiple zelda's, etc... maybe? This Zelda could take place before MM.... right? Bah I dunno :D
And the tree probably didn't mention Link's sister because Nintendo hadn't planned things out this far and the sister thing was just something new they thought up, so they'll find some way to tie it in there :p

But then Link's sister would have to be like 3 years old. That is unless Link's mom had her before Link.

Zelda and Link's sister meet up by chance in the Hyrulian forest. They talk and eventually Link comes up in the conversation. Sis recalls(maybe, depending on D.O.B.) the past days. And everything else can follow from there. But seriously, Zelda better be in the damned game otherwise all hell will break loose from me, considering most if not all the past Zelda games had Zelda in it and or had you rescuing Zelda.

Errmm... It never says Zelda won't be in it... it just says that Link will be saving his sister instead of Zelda...
CAN'T ZELDA BE IN A ROLE THAT DOESN'T PUT HER IN GRAVE DANGER FOR ONCE!? SHEESH!

I know change is good, but don't change it drastically. Some people will be like "Yet another move by Nintendo to put a franchise in an entirely new and stupid way" or something like that. But the change might be good.

This could be (is most likely) an entirely different Link from OoT and MM. And no one knows (except for Nintendo) when it takes place after MM, if it does. Like DH said, Zelda games move around on the timeline.
Or you could go with the no overall storyline with the Zelda games being like Final Fantasy, only with the same or simliar characters.

Yeah, the Zelda series might just be that way... totally new adventures not related to each other at all (except for a few... but I'm talking the major ones like the first one, LttP, OoT, etc... I know OoT and MM are linked)... except they have the same main character and princess and sometimes the main area and all that... but the games are not related to each other and therefore can jump around all over the place... :D
But then it might be that the whole series is on a timeline and there are just different generations of Link's'n'Zelda's and such... cuz Link's looks have changed each game... He was all short in the first game... then taller in the second game (with brown hair)... I dunno about LttP... then in N64 games he was like a kid and turned into a young adult type person with blonde hair... but he always has the same outfit so I dunno... but anyways...
I read some timeline awhile back... explaining that there were different generations of peoples... and why all the princesses are named zelda and the heroes are Link... and explaining different events (even some that weren't in Zelda games... at least not that I know of)... but I dunno if that was something true or just something a fan made up... *shrugs*

There are several ideas of what the timeline is, there not being one is one of them.
What I believe is this:
OoT,MM: LinkI, ZeldaII
LttP> LinkII, ZeldaIII
Oracle Series, LA: LinkIII, ZeldaIV
LoZ, AoL: LinkIV, ZeldaV (the Zelda in LoZ), ZeldaI (ZeldaI is the sleeping princess. She was put to sleep by a wizard at least 50 years before OoT)
That's my theory. The Link's were coincidence or fate, whichever you prefer. In between some of the games are centuries while others may just be decades. Obviously that means that ZeldaV might be the hundreth Zelda as opposed to just the fifth.
Then there's the GCN Zelda and GBA Zelda to figure in but not enough is known to really figure...

A little poster showing link in a little sailboat crossing the sea!
I've been saying that they should bring the raft back... A sailboat sounds good enough though :D I wonder where you can take it... or if you even control it yourself... maybe the game will just have to do with having to go all around a world that's made up of a bunch of islands... and you don't actually control the sailboat yourself... I dunno but still :p I can't wait to see mo bout dis game... I want it NOW... :(

Link's sister now has a name and no its not Zelda. Link's sibling's name is called Arill.
If you need the Link (pun intended) here it is:
Hands-On Zelda (http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2867382,00.html)
Its in there somewhere. A little more than halfway through.
It also seems that mini-games can be downloaded into the GBA. It doesn't say whether you'll need the LttP GBA port or not although I think not.

I just thought of something. Wouldn't it be funny if Zelda grew up in this one too? Like later on in the game they have an adult Link without the weird eyes and everything, and we all spaz over him supposed to be looking like a kid.
I think it would be funny :)

Well that's a good point. Maybe Link was separated from his sister for a valid reason. If Link "abused" her then she probably doesn't want to be found. Someone needs to tell Link to leave his sister alone. :(
