Who here has an interest in board games? I thoroughly enjoy hanging out with a few friends and getting a nice game of Risk or something similar going.
The games I have:
Risk
Risk 2210
Axis and Allies
Settler's of Catan
There are many more I want to get, but unfortunately, they are really dang expensive.
Also, does anyone play any of the Xbox Arcade versions of popular board games? I have Ticket to Ride and Carcassone and would love to challenge some fellow boardies to a different breed of online gaming.

I have Carcassone, we could play sometimes.
I enjoy board games, but more of the new media ones.
I like Scene It, and was a huge fan of Shout About It!
Also use to play a ton of Trouble at work. Simple game that everyone gets.

Monopoly....that game makes me angry. It always ends in fights. And it lasts for like 12 hours.
I enjoy card games. And epic board games, like Chess. I love Scrabble...and who doesn't. Up Words is fun too. Rummikub is fun.
I don't play many board games. It would be cool to find a good casual online gaming site that does board games or stuff like catch phrase, and see if GTers want to play. Me and BaB have played a little online poker in the never ending quest to teach me how to not suck at poker.

Chess is awesome but the older I get the harder time I have finding willing people to play. I don't want to start going to creepy, public park Chess forums....my Grandma taught me how to play Chess back when I was 7 years old so I have some fond memories of her kicking my ass. My grandpa kicked my ass in Checkers. Ah...memories.

That is why you make it into a drinking game. Doesn't last as long and you make up the rules as you go.
And I love chess. I have not played in such a long time though

I only have The Lord of the Rings, which I've only played three times in 7 years. Bah. I think I have to sell it.
I love Colonists of Catan (wait, that's Settlers of Catan). A few friends have it, I always enjoy it.
Edit: Ah yes, I have a chess board. I rarely play it though. The last time I used it was when I taught a girl how to play.

I can't imagine making up the rules of a drinking game as you go to be very fun...
In my experience, it would just turn into a drinking contest.
You need finesse or however you spell that word.
And I use to enjoy chess as well, but it has been ages since played and doubt any good anymore.
And not sure if it counts, but 1 vs 100 is a good time.

My favorite board game is Monopoly. I have lots of different types of monopoly games (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Army (donated to my work in memory of my dad), Deluxe, etc). My friends don't like to play though, so I don't get to very often. We usually play games like:
Scattergories
Pirate Dice (which I guess isn't exactly a board game)
Apples to Apples (last gift I got from a dear friend who recently passed away)
Life
We spend more time playing cards than playing board games.
